Talk:Baiken

I'm not really sold on the whole AnjixBaiken relation. Anji calling Baiken "anee-san" as a term of respect doesn't really translate to him having feelings for her, and Baiken's arcade quote sounded more of a mocking comment than a compliment. But I won't bother editing that little footnote out, since there's nothing really to say that it's a false idea. (For reference: "I don't dislike men with spines. Even though you were weak..." from Ed Chang's General FAQ.) RTL 02:14, 14 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

This is just my personal interpreation of Anji's behavious (and Baiken's attitude) but it looks to me like nothing more than an irrational crush on Anji's part. I imagine it's because he looked below her neck once or twice ^__^
Eh. As long as it doesn't go in the article, I'm fine with talking about it here. Heheh. I would agree that Anji's primary relationship with Baiken is somewhat brotherly (Not in the literal familial sense, but you know what I mean), but I'd not say that romantic intentions are unlikely. Speculation = meh. - Digital Watches! 18:40, 16 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've seen on many websites as Baiken being listed as "Baiken Seishino." Is this her real last name and should it be added in? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rodent Meat (talkcontribs).

  • I don't see anything that confirms this as more than fanon. Danny Lilithborne 05:57, 13 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
    • Incidentally, what does "seishino" mean, if anything?

Is Baiken related to/inspired by Osamu Tezuka's Dororo, Dororo. edit

Lots of references to body parts being weaponry in Dororo, Dororo, I'm just thinking that's a reference.

More likely inspired by the character of Tange Sazen by Hayashi Fubo. Tezuka apparently did a manga based off of that series too:

Fair use rationale for Image:Baiken.gif edit

Image:Baiken.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Will hit up this review soon. Has one ever considered Magneton? Pokelego999 (talk) 23:25, 6 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Apologies for the delay, let's get rolling. @Kung Fu Man (talk · contribs)

GA Criteria edit

1. Article is well-written.

2. No OR, all info is cited in the article.

3. Broad in coverage. Covers multiple aspects of the subject.

4. Article appears neutral, and does not appear to hold a significantly negative nor positive stance on the subject.

5. Article appears stable. No notable instances of vandalism I can see.

6. Both images have proper fair use rationales.

Lead edit

-"Players of the series have stated they would not buy a Guilty Gear title that did not have her included." Feel this bit is unnecessary and a bit unclear. Which players? Are these random players reputable?

-I'd choose a more descriptive word than swagger since that's a bit unclear.

-Specify that the sex appeal is about Baiken since the wording is unclear.

Conception and Design edit

-What is the cataclysm?

  • Replaced with a description of the Gears and role/presence in the storyline.

Appearances edit

-What are Asami and Kosou in terms of attacks?

  • Reworded this sentence to make it clear these are the actual parrying moves

-Adding on to the cataclysm comment, could you elaborate on what Gears are? It's unclear.

  • Should be fixed with the above Cataclysm fix.

Promotion and Reception edit

-" in how the primary focus was on her sword arm, with the mechanic prosthesis integrated into her missing arm were secondary, but still allowed for integration into more elaborate combination attacks in the games." I'd separate this from the prior sentence half and reword for clarity since it's a run-on and the grammar's off here.

  • Rewrote to try and be clearer.

-I'd cut the "Meanwhile," in the last sentence of the second paragraph.

  • Fixed

-What does the thesis state about Baiken? Less so thinking it's problematic and more that I just want to verify the info in there.

  • Added information from the thesis to flesh this out.

-"He questioned just how much larger Arc System Works planned to make them, though appreciated the discourse they brought regarding the character." More of a nitpick, but I feel this could be reworded, since as it stands it doesn't really feel like critical commentary.

  • Reworded.

Overall edit

-Overall well-written and well done. Patch up the above and I'd be happy to pass this article. If you have any questions, let me know. Has one ever considered Magneton? Pokelego999 (talk) 22:21, 9 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
