Track listing

The track lists on this page are all wrong. Check on It was not part of the standard b'day track list. it was a bonus track in certain regions. Still in Love was only on the U.S. deluxe edition. All internation versions always used If. Everything is wrong about that entire section. RatiziAngeloucontribs 13:03, 6 November 2014 (UTC)

Album Title

I find it confusing that there is no mention of the word bidet in the main article at all. Several websites mention the fact the pronunciation of the name of the album is the same as the word 'bidet', which is a device for anal cleansing, found in the bathrooms f the upper classes. In the UK there was an awful lot of laughter going on when the album was released, and Beyonce was even embarrassed on national radio when questioned about it. She had never heard of a bidet, or it seems had any of her marketing people, any of the hundreds of musicians and producers who made the album for her, anyone in the factory that pressed the CDs, anyone at the record company, anyone in legal or any of the friends, relatives and hangers on who make a living from being around her. Can we get at least a mention of it in the article, or a redirection or 'did you mean?' at the top?

@Chasewc91: Could you explain your reasoning for disambiguating the page? I'm confused as to why you have done so. "B'Day", punctuated as so (with an apostrophe), is not a common expression of the term "birthday" (unlike B-Day with a hyphen) and the album which you have also cited is seemingly non-notable. Why could this not have been addressed by a hatnote directing the user towards the Birthday page and notifying them of the existence of the other album? —JennKR | 22:32, 10 August 2015 (UTC)

B-day and variants (including an apostrophe) are common shorthand for "birthday", and the album itself may not be notable, but it's by a notable recording group and warrants mention on the dab page. We end up with a clearer, non-ambiguous article title that lets the reader know exactly where they're going to. I don't see why this is an issue. Chase (talk | contributions) 22:58, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for your further clarification! While I agree that B-day is common shorthand for birthday, I think the use of B'Day (with apostrophe) is not commonly used as shorthand for birthday and so really it's primary usage is with the Beyoncé album. In short, I think your disambiguating the page is really just creating another unnecessary page for users to click through to the Beyoncé article. —JennKR | 17:46, 11 August 2015 (UTC)

Deluxe edition artwork

The [http://www.amazon.com/Bday-Deluxe-Beyonce/dp/B000QTCXIW/ deluxe edition front cover] is different from the standard front cover. Is insertion of the deluxe edition artwork allowed under WP:NFCC? --George Ho (talk) 04:57, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

I'd say no. Now, my understanding of NFCC is far from complete, however, for NFCC to apply to this cover, all 10 criteria must be met:
  1. * No free equivalent.
  2. * Respect for commercial opportunities.
  3. * Minimal usage:
  4. * Previous publication.
  5. * Content. .
  6. * Media-specific policy.
  7. * One-article minimum.
  8. * Contextual significance.
  9. * Restrictions on location.
  10. * Image description page.

The one I'm certain this image won't meet is Contextual signifigance. Contextual significance is defined as : Non-free content is used only if its presence would significantly increase readers' understanding of the article topic, and its omission would be detrimental to that understanding. To my mind, the album cover would not increase the reader's understanding, matter of fact, the text does a far better job in this case than the album cover would, but that's just my opinion. Let's see what our more experienced hands have to say. KoshVorlon We are all Kosh 20:27, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

I would say yes under the template guidelines, which say an alternate cover that is significantly different from the original can be included. Dan56 (talk) 21:28, 2 September 2015 (UTC)
I would argue no, as the standard front cover is the one generally connected to the album/CD. We are not a list of indiscriminate information, and the bonus deluxe ultra super-secret for members only cover is only pertinent to this article is the bonus cover is notable for some reason (ie. a reliable source thought it was compelling enough to devote column inches to). Is it truly a piece of information that is required to have an understanding of the subject? Non-free content concerns aside, I think that we should consider that, if no one citable considers the material earth-shattering, we shouldn't lend it any additional weight by mentioning it. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 02:16, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
@Jack Sebastian:; would you say that this cover meets the criteria described at Template:Infobox album#Template:Extra album cover, i.e. an alternate cover that is significantly different from the original and is widely distributed? Keep in mind the deluxe edition is discussed in Release and promotion and Commercial performance, where it is cited as having entered the Billboard 200 top-ten, and in Certifications, where it is cited as having been certified gold in Japan and Britain. Dan56 (talk) 12:24, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
Comment. Unless there's a significant commentary on the artwork itself, the non-inclusion of deluxe version is not detrimental. So, it's a no. --Efe (talk)14:11, 3 September 2015 (UTC)

B'Day (Beyoncé album)B'Day (album) – I don't see where the conflict is. The Tankard album (if ever exists) is always spelt with a hyphen, not an apostrophe[1]. © Tbhotch (en-3). 01:43, 3 July 2020 (UTC)

  • Move to B'Day. The orthography "B'Day" is highly unusual, and IMO sufficient to make the Beyoncé album primary topic per WP:SMALLDIFFS. Support proposed move as a second choice. -- King of ♥ 03:03, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
    • Support this proposal.--Ortizesp (talk) 13:58, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
  • Move to B'Day per above comment. This article was originally titled B'Day until an undiscussed and unnecessary move in 2015. Station1 (talk) 04:17, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
  • Support per nominator or move to B'Day per above comment. In any case the current situation where B'Day (album) redirects to birthday (disambiguation) is clearly wrong. JIP | Talk 20:41, 4 July 2020 (UTC)
