Peer review

Hi, I am peer reviewing this page for Behavioral Ecology. I added internal Wikipedia links to many other pages which I thought would be helpful throughout the article. I also corrected grammar as I went along, and I rephrased some sentences to make them more clear. I also deleted some redundancies within the article. Overall, I think it is very informative and a lot of different areas were covered. Lauraem7 (talk) 07:45, 27 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Peer review for Behavioral Ecology- This is a very well written article, so I did not revise that much. I changed a paragraph in the lead about oviposition to make it consistent with the information in the oviposition subsection. I would also recommend that you provide in-text citations for the information in the lead section even if you restate the information with citations later on. As of now there are no citations for the opening section. The larva and pupae subheadings need citations too- it is unclear where that information came from. Aside from that everything was cited well and the information was clear and informative. Nice job! KmarcusBC (talk) 01:14, 8 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

I tried to edit this page by adding new information and citing it but someone else edited the page while I was editing so my edits and sources were lost. Mllutz (talk) 03:38, 25 October 2017 (UTC)MllutzReply

Hi! overall your page looks good :) I did make some edits to wording and grammar throughout the page. The physiology section was more of a description of what your species looked like at each stage of life; therefore, I reorganized your life history section by breaking into sub-sections (egg, larvae, pupae, and adult), then added these descriptions to their respective stages of life. In addition, the adult section of the physiology section mentioned polymorphism, which isn't really a physiological thing.... so I added half of that information in description of adult in life history, while using the other half in the pigmentation/color patterns section. If you have any questions on the changes I made just let me know! Jenniferra (talk) 21:22, 27 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi! The article was looking pretty good in terms of writing and organization since the other peer editors had already finished. My main concern was with the section subheadings, which I felt went too literally off of the outline we were given and ended up being either redundant or not really representative of the information they contained. Under "Food resources" there were five different subheadings, and one of the three sentences in that whole section was repeated twice, so I decided to combine it into one paragraph. I would recommend explaining more about protective coloration, because you said it didn't actually confer protection. Is it mimicking another species and the mimicry isn't successful? I wasn't really sure how to interpret what you put there. Lastly, I would recommend adding citations to the overview. Mnoronha456 (talk) 07:06, 30 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Peer Review Suggestions

Overall, Mariel’s page was pretty decent, including many different types of sections regarding her butterfly with substantial information in each one. The main changes I made were to her Life History, Physiology, and Pigmentation/Color Patterns sections. In the Physiology section, she wrote mostly physical descriptions of both the egg and the adult. In addition, her Life history section was one large paragraph of the life cycle. Therefore, I reorganized the life history section into egg, larvae, pupae, and adult, and then added the descriptions from the Physiology section into each respective life stage subsection. The Physiology section also had information regarding polymorphism, which did not seem like a topic regarding physiology. So, I took the polymorphism information and fused it with the Pigmentation and Color Patterns section. In addition, I made general grammatical fixes and changes in sentence structure for better flow.
