Some proposed changes edit

On behalf of Advocates for Opioid Recovery, I’m requesting the addition of key information that will give a fuller picture of the organization’s work and mission.

Please add the following information under “Activities”

  • Advocates for Opioid Recovery engages in grassroots advocacy to break down barriers to recovery from opioid use disorder by influencing federal policy and regulation.[1]
  • Add Van Jones’ name to the sentence starting with “As paid advisers” so it reads “Kennedy, Gingrich, and Jones”
  • In 2018, AOR created the Survivors Council, a group of survivors and co-survivors of opioid use disorder (OUD), to fight the stigma against OUD and break down barriers to evidence-based recovery treatments and services through personal stories, media engagement, and participation in AOR’s grassroots advocacy efforts.[2]
  • #LetsTrumpAddiction won first place in the Health Care Campaign category of Ragan’s 2017 PR Daily Awards. [3]

Please add the following information under “Positions”

  • AOR contributed to successful advocacy for the inclusion of a provision in the SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act (HR 6) that would extend Medicare coverage to opioid treatment programs (OTPs).[4]

Please add the following information under “Funding”

  • AOR is also supported by its Recovery Circle and individual supporters.[5]

   Edit request partially implemented

  1.  N Information on the groups actions are already included in the article with the claim that the group's activities "push for opioid addiction treatment."
  2.  Y Van Jones name was added.
  3.  N As the Survival Council's mandate is to promote AOR, information on their creation was not added, per WP:PROMO, WP:BALASP.
  4.  N Ragan's PR Daily Award is not independently notable in Wikipedia.
  5.  N The claim regarding AOR's "contribution to successful advocacy" was not added per per WP:SOAP, WP:NOBLECAUSE
  6.  N Information on AOR's funding was not added because it was not clear whom the Recovery Circle means to imply.
