Martinez edit

You need to add Martinez 80.5.22.86 (talk) 14:37, 18 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

We'll add him when he signs for the club, not before. Please read the statement from Manchester United more carefully. Thanks. – PeeJay 17:24, 18 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Sky edit

PeeJay can you please explain why you reverted the Sky source in favor of primary Juventus source? The latter is Juventus official website, and it's better to have WP:SECONDARY source(s) about player transfers like Pogba, especially since there are many secondary reports on this. ZaniGiovanni (talk) 23:37, 20 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

I'm happy to restore the source, it was an unfortunate casualty of restoring the article to a previous version that avoided implying Christian Eriksen joined United directly from Brentford. – PeeJay 11:46, 21 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
No worries, thanks for adding a secondary source. ZaniGiovanni (talk) 21:58, 22 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Loan players in squad statistics edit

I don't see any reason why players who have been sent out on loan should be included in the squad statistics table. Alvaro Fernandez, for example, is not part of the Manchester United first team this season, as he has gone out on loan to Preston North End. If he had been sent out on loan after United had played competitive matches for which he was eligible, of course he should be included, but he wasn't. He hasn't had a squad number announced for this season either, and we actually have reason to think he would have worn a different number this season. – PeeJay 13:01, 28 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Simply because you are wrong here!

  • Fernandez (and Henderson for that matter) is listed as a first team player for this season on Manchester United's official website.

  • Also in regards to squad numbers, he was announced as 42 in preseason (along with Garnacho as 49) but you have always dismissed that as not official, and every year those squad numbers announced in preseason have been the official ones for the competitive season.

  • And personally I do not appreciate you calling me wrong, you then having the audacity to say that is not your fault when you are the making changes, then going back to last season's page and edit it to support your current position even though last year you were editing loan players back on to the squad statistics list, and I find it a bit embarrassing that you only went back one season when there are still many more before that which proves that this is NOT how things have been done.

This is exactly the same as Darmian and Smalling. The year Darmian left you were happy for him to be removed from the list as he never played a game for the club that season. But next year when Smalling left you decided it had to be different and added Darmian back to support your point claiming that is how it always had been done.

Please start having a bit of consistency in how you rum these pages if you insist on being the final say on every edit here. Mn1548 (talk) 10:29, 29 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ummm, you're gonna have to provide a link that announcement you claim was made. As far as I know, United have not announced any official changes to their squad numbers for the 2022/23 season. Yes, there are pictures of the players wearing new numbers in training and those numbers have correlated with numbers worn in pre-season matches, but numbers worn in pre-season do not always stay the same (see Bastian Schweinsteiger prior to the 2015–16 season). What may or may not have happened in the past is irrelevant since we can correct previous articles; what I want to know is, why should we include players in the stats table when they are not eligible to play in any matches for the club this season? We can address other articles later, but right now, this is the one that matters, and you've given no good reason for Henderson or Fernandez to be included. – PeeJay 18:38, 29 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Tom Huddlestone edit

Sorry if I'm wrong, but Tom Huddlestone has been signed as a coach and player for U21s, not sure why he has been added to the senior player transfer list. 81.149.243.201 (talk) 14:10, 10 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

He's still been signed by the club, it's just an internal choice only to register him to play for the under-21s. – PeeJay 15:58, 10 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Liverpool attendance edit

Will the attendance number for the Liverpool game be added? Liverpool's respective 2022–23 season article gives it, albeit seemingly without source, at 71,147. ColdDreams (talk) 13:26, 5 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Attendance edit

Manchester United vs Manchester city 2-1 attendance there is a mistake it shouldn't be 73 thousand but 75 thousand being the highest home attendance — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2C0F:FE38:2400:F78A:1:0:FDE6:CD25 (talk) 05:54, 18 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Old Trafford doesn’t even hold 75,000 any more. That figure was obviously a typo. – PeeJay 09:59, 18 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
The BBC source gives 75,546. You'd think stadium capacities have a certain number though sometimes crowds which number higher than the capacity given in matches does happen. However, I'm inclined to leave the infobox figure as it is (the Charlton attendance) in case the BBC and other sources with the 75,546 figure have it wrong, in line with the above. First of all, Premier League states that number (https://www.premierleague.com/match/75106), second of all - Manchester derby is put as a record attendance for 2022–23 Premier League, so there's a discrepancy. I guess with VIP hospitality there can be more people in the stadium than it's maximym capacity. So either we change both (Premier League and MU attendance records), or we leave Manchester derby as the highest figure. Red Devil (talk) 19:34, 28 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
Many websites tend to take attendance data from a central source, so if one makes a mistake, it’s likely that mistake will be replicated across the internet. Furthermore, the stadium’s maximum capacity takes VIP boxes into account, so it’s not possible to exceed the stated maximum. The 75k+ figure is definitely an error, but not one that we can easily encourage sources to re—assess. – PeeJay 23:00, 28 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Manchester United page edit

Please at any cost would you change the Manchester United page so it can be the same as other f.c Pages e.g Manchester city for example in the fixtures it can have the time match will be playing and stadium also after the match have been played it can have those who scored from the other team, yellow cards and red cards please - mzing'! Why? This article is about Manchester United. The identities of opposing goalscorers are not important to Manchester United’s season and should be included in prose. – PeeJay 09:59, 18 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
