Domestic vs International designation edit

How is Domestic vs International being defined here, as it seems very arbitrary: The US Open, French Open and Australian Open Tennis tournaments are described as Domestic, whist the fourth of the majors, Wimbledon, is listed as International, meanwhile, the Golfing majors all appear to be International. Some consistency (or an explanation of the differences) would be useful. --148.253.221.44 (talk) 14:33, 31 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • This should be determined by who is eligible to compete, so all of the tennis Grand Slams should be international. The vast majority of events in the calendar will be international or continental, but I think we've previously agreed that a few domestic events can be included, such as notable events in the US's "big four" sports leagues. I can confirm that: it was established so here. --151.50.251.161 (talk) 01:05, 11 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Page content edit

As it has been happening every year since 2013, this page needs that a part of the information is cut or transferred somewhere else because of the huge amount of data displayed. Since this is a recurring problem, I propose to evaluate again what kind of information it's fundamental we include and instead which can be inserted in the detailed pages, foreseen for each section (i.e. Aquatic sports in 20XX for Aquatic sports). Given that we cannot delete the calendar section, I propose to start with a simple solution: just reduce the number of events included in the page. I thought of two possible solutions:

1. with the first, we would insert only the sports and the corresponding events indicated in the two tables below. I followed the table you can find at Olympic sports both for Olympic and non-Olympic disciplines. Obviously, this table implies that both men's and women's events (if held) in a given sport should be included and that domestic events are excluded (except for US Big Four as established here). In this way, youth competitions won't be included and we would make room only to first-tier events in each sport but I think there could be a problem of page length still.

2. We can directly stop inserting events right on this page and create a detailed page for each sport included in the two tables above, as shown below. In this way, the page would be practically blank, but there would still be the calendar section at the top and each sports section could be easily updated or examined in a detailed page dedicated to that.

Archery
Association Football
Athletics (track and field)

3. Finally, a third option would be that of stopping adding the results of sports events just listing them on the page, but I think it could result a bit messy.

Please consider all these solutions and let's take a decision all together because I think we all agree this page needs a bit more of order. --151.53.232.84 (talk) 04:42, 7 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

What is your brief and neutral statement? At over 30,000 bytes (from the {{rfc}} tag to the next timestamp), this RfC is far too big to be listed at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Society, sports, and culture. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 10:57, 25 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
Just reduce the number of the events in the page and organize it better. This is what the page needs in simpler words. The two tables above have been made to make the idea clearer but the discussion still doesn't progress. --151.50.223.199 (talk) 11:31, 25 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
The absence of a brief and neutral statement means that the RfC cannot be publicised by Legobot (talk · contribs). I have deactivated this RfC: it is apparent that WP:RFCST and WP:RFCBEFORE have not been observed, and there has been no response from 151.53.232.84. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 06:29, 28 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
I think this should mean that, after inviting people to discuss the matter on this page and after some good efforts have been done in this sense, a series of edits directly modifying the page content, from this edition on, shouldn't be rejected. --151.50.239.76 (talk) 00:57, 29 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

The event is taking place in Saudi Arabia. Edin75 (talk) 10:55, 12 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Alpine skiing section edit

Given that my edits aren't welcome, can someone fix the error made with alpine skiing section, at least? --151.50.190.184 (talk) 03:01, 17 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Australian Football League International Cup edit

Seeing as the previous editions have all been covered on Wikipedia, and the tournament is only every three years, I'd appreciate the AFL International Cup (Australian rules football) being added to 2020

Cue sports edit

Hi guys, I've done a split of the items here for cue sports to 2020 in cue sports. I did the same for the previous two articles (such as 2019 in cue sports.) The 2019 article is now a featured list, in case anyone was thinking of changing any of these articles as a featured list! Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 20:10, 4 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
