Spanish election

Its not properly sourced that the Spanish election is happening. The article only says there are talks yesterday and today. I wish people were less impatient on changing this things and could wait for official confirmation.--Batmacumba (talk) 08:48, 26 April 2016 (UTC)

We're in a transition phase where the election in totally inevitable, but hasn't been formally declared yet. So really it comes down to policy as to which triggers the election being added - I'd prefer to wait for the official announcement. If in future we decide to add speculative dates (election is likely to be held on or near this date) to the calendar then it'd warrant adding. Otherwise no. I have been told the Wikipedia:CHRYSTAL policy allows it, but its a matter of interpretation. I would definitely prefer "official announcements only".--Batmacumba (talk) 19:26, 27 April 2016 (UTC)

The first line seems to allow it: "Individual scheduled or expected future events should be included only if the event is notable and almost certain to take place. Dates are not definite until the event actually takes place. If preparation for the event is not already in progress, speculation about it must be well documented" If we can source the fact that it'll almost certainly take place, I think it's probably fine. Transnistrian presidential election

Why did information about Transnistrian presidential election removed? Is it politicaly motivated? I saw here information about Taiwan, Somaliland, Iraqi Kurdistan - all these states are not fully recognized, though act as sovereing like Transnistria. Only fully sovereign states and autonomous countries (say, Cook Islands or Greenland) are included. Non-recognized "rebel states" are not. Taiwan is a sovereign state (the two China situation resembles the two Korea situation). The autonomy of Somaliland is recognized by the Somali government. Both Iraqi Kurdistan and Transdniestria are rebel provinces/regions that are de facto independent, but not recognized as such. Its basic facts, nothing to do with "research". The list you link to divides between UN members and non-members, which isn't a relevant distinction in this case.--Batmacumba (talk) 20:12, 11 December 2016 (UTC)

Perhaps I should add that I personally think the easiest criteria would be to only include sovereign states, but that hasn't been the policy so far. Though Taiwan is obviously still a national election -its a government that officially claims to represent all of China, and thereby be the Republic of China. Maybe let us put elections in Transnistria at least to pages "Local electoral calendar"? Pay attention, that 2014 "referendum" and "elections" in so-called "Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics" are included to Local electoral calendar 2014. Olek Bokhan (talk) 22:05, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
