Correct Language

edit

This article is in Spanish!!!! Please move to es.wikipedia.org and/or translate it. baloo_rch 18:48, 2 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

i´m traslating.... you .... !!! i need some time ok. so just leave it this way and i gonna fishish it in a couple of hours....

I've nothing. Perhaps some other wikipedian noticed the language issue too.
I'm not going to make any comment on this article just because you are working on it, but I think the best for this case is to write the article in the spanish language wikipedia and then translate the article into the other language (so, the work in spanish is not lost and the spanish wikipedia takes the benefit too.)

As far a I read, I fear the article could be consider a bit pov-ish by someones. Please, be careful baloo_rch 02:21, 3 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
I agree. POV standards in the English wiki are certainly higher than the Spanish. I'll try to keep an eye on this as I go through the proofreading.--GringoInChile 01:18, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well i did my best but well, i was educated in Chile, so excuse my english. i took the original article from spanish-language wikipedia (so the credit is theirs), i´m not sure what you mean by pov-ish. further explanation?

One more thing: would be nice to link this article to the spanish language original (Movilización estudiantil de 2006 en Chile)

Don't worry about the level of English. I'm gonna work hard through the weekend to get it up to scratch. I was really keen to get this article into the English wiki but I just had no time during the week to do it, so I was really happy to find it here already on Saturday. Good job everyone!. This is a historic moment in Chilean history so I think it deserves to be Featured Article some time in the future--GringoInChile 01:15, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Did you know...

edit

When I finish the proofreading and scanned the article for POV, I'm going to nominate this article for the "Did You know..." section of the Main Page. As part of the nomination, you have to suggest a DYK phrase that would then appear. The best I can cme up with so far is:

Did you know that current protests by secondary students in Chile over educational reforms have led to negotiations with the Education Minister and been answered directly by President Bachelet?

I'm not really happy with this and would like to hear other suggestions. --GringoInChile 12:37, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Here's another draft:

Did you know that over 600,000 secondary students mobilized in protests in Chile are demanding educational reforms from the government of Michelle Bachelet?

The image is just a string of redlink code right now; I'm going to remove it if no one objects. -Fsotrain09 04:14, 20 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Merging

edit

I don't know where this was suggested, but Chile_Student_Strike_of_2006 should really be merged with this article. There is no point on having two articles about the same thing, and that this one is much more complete.

Confusion

edit

There is a manga also by the name of Penguin Revolution. I was wondering if someone could put a link on this article. Hyakurei (talk) 23:25, 22 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Article's use of Present language

edit

There's probably some work to be done regarding the article claiming that the University of Chile is "currently under occupation" when this was probably true in 2012 and not today. Similar themes are all throughout the article. These protests are over and not ongoing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Raveonettes Simp (talkcontribs) 21:31, 23 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
