Welcome to Wikipedia, Hyakurei! I am Collectonian and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome! -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 01:41, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi Collectonian! Thank you for welcoming me. Sorry about forgetting the four tildes and posting in one of you user subpages... This is great! I already started reading the articles you put up for me; they're very helpful. I love Wikipedia! I'm not quite a Wikipedian yet, but I will be...soon! I need to get used to editing and stuff too! Ok, I have 2 questions (well, maybe 4):

1) I saw that you recently created a One Piece Work Group of some sort. I wanted to create one for Naruto, but many don't think it's needed. I'm sort of neutral on the issue, but I really want to improve Naruto enough to be a GA or even an FA. Any thoughts? And would you be interested?
2) I'm trying to create an article about a manga that has been released in Japan. I have read the manga, and I have gotten information on it from websites like [1] and <copyvio link removed>. They are pretty accurate since I read the manga. Do you think these websites reliable sources I can use? Can I create an article using them?

Thanks for all you help! :D {{helpme}} Hyakurei (talk) 20:21, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I haven't created a task force/work group for One Piece. I generally don't think individual series need a task force, as we seem to do better with an informal group. Naruto has one such group working on quite a few articles, and I think the main article can be improved up to GA/FA with some more work. I have it on my watchlist, though I don't do a lot of editing. I'll see if I can get a todo list worked up and added to its talk page to over guidance on improving the main article for GA/FA, as well as as a central location for to-dos on the other pages.
For question 2, no, neither of those is considered a reliable source. MAL does not meet the requirements for WP:RS as it does not have the necessary notability. For the second website, no, a fansubber/scanslator sites and directories of the same are NEVER reliable sources and must never be linked to as they violates Wikipedia's copyright policies. Some reliable anime website sources include Anime News Network, AnimeOnDVD.com (though not the rest of Mania.com), and ICv2.com. The Anime and Manga project page also has links to some other reliable web sources. When creating the article, make sure to use the anime and manga MoS as a guide for sections articles should have, appropriate content, etc. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 20:33, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Oh then I think you're part of the One Piece work group,'cause I saw you name under the project...A to do list would be great and thanks for the links!
Another question. There is an article called Penguin Revolution (manga), but I couldn't find this article when I first searched for it. Instead this Penguin Revolution article kept showing up, so i thought the one on the manga didn't exist. Can you put a link that leads to the manga page on the Penguin Revolution article, similar to how Bleach has a link to Bleach (manga) and the very top. Hyakurei (talk) 21:03, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
That isn't a work group, its a clean up project under the clean up task force. We work on cleaning up various articles, with different projects going on at once. I'll add that missing note on the PR page. :) -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 21:12, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Um, what exactly is cleaning? Hyakurei (talk) 22:55, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Kuroshitsuji

edit

Hey there! I've noticed that you are interested in editing the Kuroshitsuji articles and possibly its existing daughter pages. I've also noticed that you are able to understand Japanese on a beginner level. I'm creating the chapter article for the Kuroshitsuji series and I would like to know if you think you are able to do me a favor. I know I came out of the blue, but do you think you are proficient enough in Japanese to read the titles of three chapters written in Japanese. I can't read Japanese myself, so I'm kind of useless in that area. If you're interested and think you are able to do it, please tell me so I can give you the specific chapters. I'm extremely sorry for asking this of you out of nowhere. ~Itzjustdrama C ? 03:59, 11 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry for the trouble, but I'm realized why I couldn't translate the titles. The scans the scanlator used were originally, or were scanlated into, Chinese. Again, sorry for the trouble. However, help on the Kuroshitsuji topic is still very much welcome! ~Itzjustdrama C ? 04:57, 13 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Hi! Sorry, I haven't been able to reply earlier...

I could understand minimal Japanese before, but no I have almost completely forgotten. Sorry, but I can't read at all. I would love to help out with the Kuroshitsuji articles. I recently started reading them and I'll be adding and editing the articles once I have time. Thanks. ~ Hyakurei (talk) 21:14, 18 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

A header? You mean like the topic title "Hello" above? Or something else? ~ Hyakurei (talk) 21:15, 18 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I closed it as merge - there is no need to ask for a close, if someone thinks one should be done then they will do it when they feel that consensus has been achieved. Welcome to Wikipedia, by the way. :) neuro(talk) 23:36, 18 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
