Please create with:

{{edit filter warning

|filter = 1112
|text = An automated filter has identified a problem with this edit, so it has been disallowed.

Please do not add yourself, your friends, or your relatives to lists of notable people. Do not add anyone else, unless your edit can be supported by multiple reliable sources. Social media sites are not reliable sources.

If you were not adding a name to a list, please report this error and another editor will provide assistance.

If you were adding a name to a list, please go the same page, but be sure to provide reliable sources backing up your claim. Unsourced requests, or requests sourced to social media, will be ignored or removed.

Please change the content of this page to

This change uses semantic markup, remove reliance on font (to make it less of a high-risk template), and fixes MOS:LISTGAP issues (to ensure it works as intended, please copy/paste from the edit window). I also made a substantive change to make it clear you should report a false positive iff the person you were trying to add is notable. Thanks! HouseBlastertalk 20:18, 29 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

I request the following changes to this filter message:

  • Add a sentence (This is the consistent with the triggering condition of the filter and written in redlink, so I believe it should reflect consensus):

In general, "notable people" lists and similar are only meant for people who already have Wikipedia articles about them.

  • Modify the second bullet point (Put "provide reliable sources backing up your claim" first):

If you were adding a notable name to a list and you can provide reliable sources backing up your claim, please go here in order to request someone to add the name for you.

+
*If you <strong>were</strong> adding a name to a list, please ensure that the article you are linking to is that of the subject, and not a disambiguation page. If you still encounter errors, and you can provide reliable sources backing up your claim, please click the Report error button on the bottom of this message to request the addition.

Slightly more descriptive message and hopefully should slow down DAB pages from ending up in a false positive report. EggRoll97 (talk) 01:06, 31 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
