Club career
editAndersson's initial career club was Vellinge IF.[1] He transferred to Trelleborgs FF as a junior.[2] Andersson made his Superettan debut on 9 April 2016 in a 3–0 loss against Halmstads BK, where he was substituted in the 85th minute against Erik Andersson.[3][4] In December 2016, Andersson was promoted to the A team and signed a three-year contract.[5]
During the 2017 preseason, Andersson injured the cruciate ligament in a training match against Halmstads BK.[4] After 3.5 years since the last Superettan match, Andersson made a comeback from his injury absence on 1 September 2019 in a 2–1 win over Västerås SK, where he was substituted in the 72nd minute against Mattias Håkansson.[4] During the 2019 season, he also had a namesake in the team, the Malmö FF loan Hugo Andersson.[4] In June 2020, he left Trelleborgs FF after having major injury problems during his time at the club.[6][7]
After leaving Trelleborgs FF, Andersson returned to his parent club Vellinge IF.[8] He played eight games and scored two goals for the club in the Division 3 season 2020.[9] The following season, Andersson scored five goals in 21 games.[10] Ahead of the 2022 season, he was signed by Division 2 club Ariana.[11]
