Submission declined on 31 December 2023 by Greenman (talk). This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies. Declined by Greenman 4 months ago. |

YMCA Christian Academy (YCA) is a private school, located in Sheung Wan (Hong Kong), offering an international curriculum.[1] The curriculum is delivered through the International Primary Curriculum (IPC)[2], a programme of education for 5-12 year-olds and the UK National Curriculum for English and Maths (White Rose).
Opened in 2012 under the name Island Christian Academy, the school is re-branded as YMCA Christian Academy as of 1 August 2022.[3] The school is IPC accredited and is a member of the Council of International Schools in 2019.[4]
History edit
In 2011, Generations Christian Education and Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong collaborated to establish a primary school for their Small World Christian Kindergarten.[5] In August 2012, the two Christian organisations opened Island Christian Academy at the 70 Bridges Street campus.[6] In 2022-23, the ten-year agreement for Island Christian Academy to operate came to an end.[7] As of 1 August 2022, the school is rebranded as YMCA Christian Academy.[8]
YCA Mural edit
In May 2023, YCA commissioned Mr. Martin Megino to paint the YCA Mural. Mr. Blaik, YCA's Principal, highlighted that the mural signifies the YCA 4Cs, which are Caring, Curious, Confident and Christ-like, and would like the mural to highlight what the school stands for.[9][10]
