MTB 5518 was a Royal Navy Motor torpedo boat ordered on 21st January 1943 and commissioned on 16th July 1946.[1]
On 26th February 1951 she was on exercise with Royal Dutch Navy MTB 559 'Raagen'[2] when the Raagen collided with MTB 5518, Slicing off her bow completely. Two Boy Sailors, Boy Telegraphist 1st class C.G. Middleton and Boy 1st Class B.E Ricketts who were reportedly sleeping in the bow section after suffering from seasickness were pronounced missing presumed killed.[3]
