M. Karthikeyan is an advocate,.[1] author[2], and educator[3] from India. He is Senior Central Government Panel Counsel of the Government of India in Madras High Court.[4]

Early life edit

Karthikeyan was born on 29 December 1978 in Chennai. In the early stages of life, he was actively mentoring the students preparing for the competitive exams.[5] He served as the director of the Manidhaneyam IAS Academy[6] and also held the position of Guest Faculty at the All India Civil Services Coaching Centre in Chennai.[7]

Karthikeyan completed his Bachelor of Commerce at D.G. Vaishnav College, Chennai in 1999. He received his law degree from Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai in 2001.

From 2004 to 2018, Karthikeyan worked as an advocate in the law office of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Audikesavalu. In 2018, he was appointed as Additional Government Pleader of the Government of Tamil Nadu in Madras High Court. During this period, the government represented itself in a variety of cases, including those related to state and central statutes.[8] In 2020, he was appointed as the special government pleader of the HR&CE department of the Government of Tamil Nadu. He also acted as standing counsel for organizations such as CMDA, SBI, and SIPCOT. In 2021, he was appointed as Senior Central Government Panel Counsel of the Government of India in Madras High Court.[9]

As an educator, Karthikeyan readied students for various competitive exams, including UPSC, TNPSC, and SSC[10]. As a visiting faculty member at Aram IAS Academy, All India Civil Service Coaching Centre, he extends his knowledge to numerous aspirants,[11] assisting them in achieving their aspirations of becoming Civil Servants[12]. His mentorship has been instrumental in guiding individuals to secure top ranks in All India competitions[13]

The Sri Varadaraja Perumal Temple in Kancheepuram has a unique tradition where the deity Athivardar emerges from the temple tank once every 40 years. So it became necessary to ensure that tank desilted so Madras high court directed assistant Government pleader M.Karthikeyan to visit the tank attached to Sri Varadaraja Perumal temple in Kancheepuram and examine whether it required cleaning, desilting and deepening and propose for whether the deity to be again kept in Temple tank[16] . He also has experience in banking & Money claims, Land Acquisition, Tamil Nadu HRCE department cases, Labour Law compliance, Arbitration & conciliation, Divorce & Guardianship & Registration of legal instruments.
