- Comment: This seems to be purely US-focused list. There are engineering colleges in other countries, also, and some of them almost certainly will have had 'black' (?) deans. Either expand the scope of this draft to include other countries also, or specify (in the content and eventually the article title [assuming this is accepted]) that this refers to USA only. DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:11, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
- Comment: Please remove all external links from the table; there should be no links pointing to external resources until the 'References' section. DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:09, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
- Comment: Without commenting on SAL notability, I'm declining this for verifiability reasons: a single source, once cited, simply isn't enough to support the contents. DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:08, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
- Comment: Declining for now, requires more citations for persons who have not otherwise established notability. MicrobiologyMarcus (petri dish•cultures) 12:44, 12 October 2023 (UTC)
- Comment: While I believe this list article should eventually be accepted and would survive any AfD nominations (WP:SAL), I'm not sure if the persons on the table are notable (see, in particular WP:LISTPEOPLE) I don't believe the current layout of the list is acceptable. I would suggest the reviewer look at lists of other positions (ie: the table on this chronological list or this non-tabled annotated list) to get an idea of acceptable list layouts for positions, including Tenure (for the years active) and other details that currently occupy the key--which is not particularly accessible. Further, I don't think the link out to personal websites is acceptable on an encyclopedic entry. MicrobiologyMarcus (petri dish•cultures) 12:41, 12 October 2023 (UTC)
The dean of College of Engineering typically serve as the liaison between faculty, students, staff, and university leadership. The dean's responsibilities range from administrative and managerial, to academic and financial. As of 7 April 2023[update], there are 26 black College of Engineering deans across the United States. However, according to ASEE (American Society for Engineering Education)[1], their engineering deans council of approximately 350 deans represents over 90 percent of the US College of Engineering deans. This means black deans likely make up less than 7% of the total population of College of Engineering deans nationwide.
