The 2042 FIFA World Cup will be the 27th FIFA World Cup, a quadrennial international football tournament contested by the men's national teams of the member associations of FIFA. It is set to be hosted in either Europe, South America, Africa or North America/Oceania, as Oceania/North America will host 2038, whoever hosts that edition cannot host this tournament and the same reason applies for Asia who host the 2034 FIFA World Cup.

Host selection

The bidding process for the 2042 World Cup is yet to begin, but it will likely take place some time from 2029-2035.

The host will be from the confederation of either, UEFA, CONMEBOL, CAF, or either CONCACAF/OFC as it is yet to be confirmed which of these last two confederations will host the 2038 World Cup.
