York Township, Elkhart County, Indiana

York Township is one of sixteen townships in Elkhart County, Indiana. As of the 2000 census, its population was 3,728.[4]

York Township was named after the state of New York, the point of origin of many of its early settlers.[5]

Bonneyville Mill was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.[6]

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 25.54 square miles (66.1 km2), of which 25.31 square miles (65.6 km2) (or 99.10%) is land and 0.23 square miles (0.60 km2) (or 0.90%) is water.[4] Hunter Lake is in this township.
