Comparison of the Lager Beer Riot and Astor Place Riot Articles.

The Astor Place article, in sharp contrast to the Lager Beer Riot article, is well developed--it includes critical sections to understand the riot and its aftermath such as "genesis," "proximate causes," and "consequences." However, the APR article relies, much too heavily, on a single source that is complimented by few other sources. The LBR article makes speculative claims as well as ones that, if true, require citation. Lager Beer Riot -page should include more subtopics to address additional aspects of the riot (cultural tension, politics & police, consequences, etc.) -decent introduction, provides general overview of the riot -additional and varied sources

Astor: Lacks event/context box; "Manhattan, New York City" should just be New York; "Police Force with deadly deadly weapons" in the intro sounds awkward; "Theatregoers" (background) is two words; 6 total sources, though many more are listed; 6 photos; also, I don't now what the purpose of the popular culture section is. Lager: 8 sources; no photos; leaves out important details regarding the relevance to the development of the Chicago Police Department, why the Germans and Irish were immigrating to Chicago, and the events preceding the riot; moreover, the intro says that there is no evidence to support that there was any deaths of rioters, but I believe that this is disputed. Astor Place Riot -solid subheadings with details -additional and varied sources needed -more focus on general writing (sentence structure, diction, etc.) Bankstonad (talk) 00:44, 20 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Astor Place Riot // Lager Beer Riot-Jennifer Cerer

Astor Place Riot: -medium level development -before LBR -at least there's multiple sections -there's also a photo...

Lager Beer Riot: -basically no development at all -tells less than a basic summary -one paragraph sooo...??? -even the box has barely any info Jennifer.cerer (talk) 00:46, 20 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Lager Beer Riot: Too long, introduction could be made into new section No pictures No info on introduction of CPD

Astor Place Riot: Limited Citations No sidebox Nicoleelkins (talk) 04:53, 21 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
