Layout edit

@Rosiestep: @Dr. Blofeld: I'd like to add names from lots of different sources to this list. We now have an alphabetical listing and a separate section for women writers represented on other language wikipedias. Can we combine these? I think alphabetical listing is actually less useful than sorting by country or by type of writing. How about we arrange the list by country and list any interwiki links following the name of the individual? gobonobo + c 00:05, 7 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

I think by country would be best. By type is inefficient as some writers have written novels and short stories and poetry etc. --Rosiestep (talk) 04:08, 7 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Article for deletion defense edit

I created an entry for children's author Kelly DiPucchio (on the US section of this list). I thought I created a good entry, but her notability is being contested and the entry is up for deletion. Can others please help by defending the article and helping to improve it. Thanks --LibraryGurl (talk) 16:30, 23 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Uk Suffragists edit

I have no idea who Susan Grimshaw, Catherine Tolson, and Helen Tolson were, but they are being deleted from a list of UK suffragists, so writers or in politics? I am not sure if/where their names should be added to a women in red list. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Suffragette&curid=21671401&diff=744008993&oldid=744001708Frederika Eilers (talk) 23:28, 12 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Note on Jane Turell edit

I was scrolling through the list of missing U.S. writers and saw Jane Turell (1708–1735). A Wikipedia page exists for Jane Colman Turell and has the same life dates and general description. Should she be taken off the page? --Averyikeda (talk) 18:08, 7 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I've moved Jane Colman Turell to Jane Turell, since that seems to be how she is commonly known. Pburka (talk) 22:42, 3 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

New Research: Characterizing Existing Practices for Identifying and Mitigating Knowledge Gaps edit

Hi,

My name is Jim Maddock, and I’m with a researcher at Northwestern University working on identifying missing content on Wikipedia. As a first step, we want to talk to members of Wikipedia’s editor community to better understand how editors currently identify and add missing content. Participants must be Wikipedia editors who speak English and will be compensated for their time.

For more details about our project, please refer to our project meta page. If you are interested in participating, please fill out this screener and consent form. Additionally, feel free to reach out to me at maddock@u.northwestern.edu if you have any thoughts and suggestions. Thanks!
