Episode articles with too much trivia edit

I've noticed quite alot SpongeBob articles have too much trivia, this problem needs to be worked on. Articles shouldn't have long trivia sections. Either put the important things in the article itself, or don't put them on at all. Wikipedia isn't about useless trivia. And on a side note, is this project even active? The talk page has only one other post. RobJ1981 14:20, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yeah but the trivia is really interesting for people who see it.--Ani vedam 01:25, 31 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

The problem still continues. Wikipedia isn't a guide to trivia: Wikipedia:Avoid trivia sections in articles is a clear guideline about this. Especially when an episode article is almost all trivia: that's a problem. "Interesting" or not, this isn't a fan's guide to every little note. I would think the SpongeBob project would care, but apparently not. RobJ1981 05:47, 30 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
I agree with RobJ. ->AMK152(TalkContributionsSend message) 01:39, 31 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Project Directory edit

Hello. The WikiProject Council is currently in the process of developing a master directory of the existing WikiProjects to replace and update the existing Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Directory. These WikiProjects are of vital importance in helping wikipedia achieve its goal of becoming truly encyclopedic. Please review the following pages:

and make any changes to the entries for your project that you see fit. There is also a directory of portals, at User:B2T2/Portal, listing all the existing portals. Feel free to add any of them to the portals or comments section of your entries in the directory. The three columns regarding assessment, peer review, and collaboration are included in the directory for both the use of the projects themselves and for that of others. Having such departments will allow a project to more quickly and easily identify its most important articles and its articles in greatest need of improvement. If you have not already done so, please consider whether your project would benefit from having departments which deal in these matters. It is my hope to have the existing directory replaced by the updated and corrected version of the directory above by November 1. Please feel free to make any changes you see fit to the entries for your project before then. If you should have any questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you. Sorry if you tried to update it before, and the corrections were gone. I have now put the new draft in the old directory pages, so the links should work better. My apologies for any confusion this may have caused you. B2T2 23:54, 23 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject SpongeBob SquarePants October 2006 Newsletter edit

Sorry, I didn't get a chance to deliver the Newsletter. This for October: I will be making a November Issue sometime this week. -AMK152 00:39, 1 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject SpongeBob SquarePants Newsletter
October 2006 Volume 1, Issue 2
Reconstruction
The WikiProject is being reconstructed. Due to recent situations and criticisms, we have removed the board from this project. I apologize that the newsletter is late this month. The project needs at least one more newsletter writer. If you are interested, please see the WikiProject's talkpage. Interviews with the members of the WikiProject will start sometime in mid-October. See the talk page for more details. Interviews will be published in the newsletter each month, and hopefully this can improve the SpongeBob SquarePants articles.
About
The Wikipedia:WikiProject SpongeBob SquarePants newsletter is a monthly newsletter posted on the first of the month. AMK152 writes and publish it. If you have any questions or comments please post them here or on AMK152's talk page.
Concerns and questions
Please leave a message with AMK152 if you have questions concerning the project. You may also post at the WikiProject's talkpage and someone will answer.
Featured articles
We are trying to make several articles good or featured articles. We would like your help reaching featured article status. We are currently working on SpongeBob SquarePants, Krusty Krab, and Bikini Bottom. Please help us improve these articles, based on the peer reviews and your knowledge of Wikipedia featured articles.
To Do List
  • Episode Pages: Infoboxes need to be complete on each episode article. (Template:SpongeBob episode) All infoboxes have been completed on the season one articles. A screenshot of each title card for each episode needs to be complete on each episode article to improve it. Please try to help incorperate all trivia into the rest of the articles. This issue needs to be resolved. See: Talk:List of SpongeBob SquarePants episodes#Word choice
  • Games: The SpongeBob game articles need to be expanded, especially the stubs. See here: Template:SpongeBob Games.
  • SpongeBob Books - On the List of SpongeBob SquarePants Media, books needed to be listed and a description of the book.
  • Featured and Good Articles - If you believe it's good enough, feel free to nominate it. Some of these articles are just great but aren't getting nominated. Adding content to let it reach the status is just as important.
  • Images - Make sure all SpongeBob-related images are tagged with this category: [[Category:SpongeBob SquarePants images]]

Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to the Opt Out List.

I didnt get the newsletter. --MacintoshApple 10:33, 7 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I didn't send it out. It was too late by then. -AMK152 03:56, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Guidelines edit

  • I think we as a a project should come up with a list of guidelines for the many articles. We can add this to the temlate used on the talk pages. I have seen many trivia sections that have very odd trivia. I have some potential guidelines, please respond with any additions or discussion.
  • The following should be removed from the articles:
  • First/second/etc. appearance of _____.
  • First/second/etc. time ______ event occurred should be removed.
  • Goofs should be put as "notes" and have the proper <ref> format.
  • ________ event is impossible because _________. If there is any way that it is possible, remove it. I have seen some such as:
  • Coat rack in Krusty Krab wasn't in previous episodes (Explanation: Mr. Krabs must of added/taken it away various times) - same situation with furniture, clocks etc.
  • All references to popular culture should have there own section in the article.
  • I have updated these proposed guidelines. I want to discuss stuff like whether or not we should removed the caption goofs. I would prefer that these would be removed. Thanks for any responses. -AMK152(TalkContributionsSend message) 01:50, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
