We need to be perfectly clear with what happened with the construction. this doesn't make it clear what happened but has some useful info. Not to be confused with the Strand Hotel which most of it refers to. I'm not sure if Owen was replaced by Green or they both appeared from the start. The Post War section reads like a society piece on who stayed, dined, partied there; I think it should be toned down. The section has only one sentence on refurbishment and nothing about management, etc; I'll see what I can find. --Rosiestep (talk) 17:45, 9 September 2013 (UTC)

See my comments here. When I say something I really mean it. I really don't want anything to do with the DYK process still or to be held responsible for any problems it might entail. But it seems ridiculous to credit Rosie for adding a reflist and not myself, having written most of it. I think it's counterproductive for me to continue refusing to be credited as Tito has pointed out. I am focusing on GAs these days but it would get boring to solely do so and I hope to continue with our A-Z together. I don't want to produce masses of articles for DYK any longer though, but if we do a couple a week and you choose to nominate for DYK then I may as well be credited, even though I am permanently distancing myself from it and am not interested if reviewers put obstacles in the way of them going through. But as I say, I really hope once Rosie passes 1000, we'll split our editing time between GA and start class articles and not function in a rushed manner as before. But I feel we do need to continue our important work on new content and it also helps keeps us motivated and interested and things have fizzled out of late I think because we've ceased our A-Z work temporarily.♦ Dr. Blofeld 22:04, 15 September 2013 (UTC)

Nothing showing up in the UK. What sort of map do you want? I had intended editing the Oman desert article today, sorry I had thought only 3 days had passed since creation! Can you check the spelling of the Harasis and pipe to Harsusi language, seems a strange pipe given that the name is apparently different. In the Hinawi article also I find 115 forts in one town hard to believe. You're certain of that?♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:04, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

The book shows a nice image of the desert location (pretty big area), but maybe there's another resource out there which is viewable in the UK; dunno. According to Ethnologue, the Harasis in Jiddat al-Harasis speak Harusi. I don't know if Rosie or Nvv I told you about the extra buttons on the tool bar above editing but you can view what I use at User:Dr. Blofeld/monobook.js. I don't use half of them given than I no longer mass stub or translate content but the cite web template and reflist buttons are especially useful, I've shown Ipigott how to install a cite web parameter which is easier to use than the one wiki has with Prove It. Let me know what the situation is for both of you anyway, Gilderien and Bonkers might also find it useful,♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:40, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

The ones I have are:

• Cite web template which inserts an empty template with the parameters without having to draw it up or enter each parameter first like with prove it
• An interwiki translation template which when you click it is comes up with the expand xxx template, you just have to add e.g German after Expand and topic= architecture
• A subst: User:Dr. Blofeld/DNB which can be used for sourcing Dictionary of National Biography articles
• A ref list which will add both the ref list and section bar when you click it
• A subst:PAGENAME and date of birth and death empty brackets which can be used for quick bio stub generating
• A google map ref template inserter
• An external link "official site" inserter where you just have to add the url link and save you also having to build the section
• An interwiki de: option (now redundant given wikidata does it automatically)
• A default sort button which when you click it, saves you having to type out default sort for names
• A subst infobox settlement button which when you click it it'll insert an infobox settlement for you to fill out.

As I say half of these I no longer use given my change of course in editing, but I'm sure any one of you will find a few of them useful. Just copy the ones you want from User:Dr. Blofeld/monobook.js♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:03, 24 September 2013 (UTC)
