I've now updated the sign-up instructions to use explicit edit links that will take you where you need to go; there are edit-mode notices in place to provide the exact syntax you should copy to produce your entry and worklist section. That's actually the placeholder anchor for future worklist insertions; if it weren't there, people would wind up seeing someone else's worklist in the edit window, which would likely lead to mistaken deletions, etc. Kirill ^{[talk] [prof]} 05:04, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

Tagged but problem already solved

What happens in cases when I come across an article which has been tagged as needing attention to grammar or other aspects (for example 1st Cavalry Division (Germany)) but there is no longer a problem because the tag doesn't reflect recent edits by other contributors? All I really do then is check the article and change the tag. It certainly reduces the backlog but I am just the last one in a line of other editors. Does this qualify for points? That's fine; you can still submit the article if you're the one checking it and updating the tags. Each category covers a broad range of possible activities anyways; you just happen to have found a particularly easy case. :-) Kirill ^{[talk] [prof]} 19:50, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

Stubs

Did we ever discuss the points for taking a stub to B-class? Almost by definition a stub doesn't meet criteria 1-3, but probably already has 4 and 5.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 20:03, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

Most stubs tend not to meet 5 either, in my experience; but I suppose some might. In theory, by taking a stub to B-Class, you could receive up to 50 (15 + 15 + 10 + 5 + 5) points if the original stub met none of the five criteria; in practice, you'd probably receive 40–45 points, depending on whether B4, B5, both, or neither had already been met. My rule of thumb is either an infobox or a picture to meet 5 and most of the stuff that I deal with has one or the other. But I have been adding infoboxes to a bunch of articles. Hmm...--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 01:58, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

Checking

Just wanted to drop a quick note to check with you guys. As you may or may not know, this drive clashes with the GOCE March drive. If our members use catscan to find articles in Category:Military history articles needing attention to grammar that is also listed in Category:All articles needing copy edit, can they get credit here from you guys as well when they do their work for the GOCE drive?
