Eventually? edit

got a concussion take a shot!!! and a beer. then a cigirate in that order :)

I think the demand that the next article be "more important" creates the problem that eventually there will be no more important articles to create, especially if we go with big leaps & bounds from minor diseases to major killers. JFW | T@lk 22:16, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

On the other hand, you can't have a contest without a challenge, and most big killers already have articles. Furthermore, I added two conditions which potentially allow a step-down, i.e. quality of candidate article and length of capture by previous winner. If you have more suggestions, let's hear 'em! --Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 22:17, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

When we started this trophy, some were hoping for a reward for expanding stubs of dreadful quality. Is that perhaps an area worth including? JFW | T@lk 19:53, 27 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Oh crap - can't see how we are going to do better than liver biopsy, though am expanding major depressive disorder bigtime so we are about to fork out treatment of major depressive disorder...A new idea maybe most notable GA or DYK next. RU kidding, not better than liver biopsy? I leave more important redlinks than that all the time! GA seems better for a group contest or something (like Delldot suggests), DYK is similar to this but has more restrictions/criteria... As far as stubs are concerned, I think we can include horrible stubs that are expanded fivefold or more. --Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 19:27, 1 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Award template edit

I couldn't see any standardised template for awarding the trophy so I got some people down at WP:HELP to give us a hand making one. Simply use:

{{MEDMAT|Article}} to create:

WikiProject Medicine's Missing Articles Trophy — Awarded to User:WikiProject Medicine for the creation of Test.

Nice. Thanks. --Una Smith (talk) 22:29, 26 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
In addition, {{MEDMAT|Article|expand=yes}} can be used when the article has been significantly expanded instead of created. —Cyclonenim (talk · contribs · email) 22:20, 26 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Such as Enterolith, which for some years was an erroneous redirect. --Una Smith (talk) 22:29, 26 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Reset point edit

I suggest a reset as I have been holding the trophy for more than 5 months. Others should get a scope too. DiptanshuTalk 13:44, 23 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Enjoy it while you can! JFW | T@lk 14:53, 23 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
@Jfdwolff: After long there has been a claimant, though not quite worthy in terms of the quality of the article (I myself keep creating articles of better standard almost every now and then). Do you suggest change of hands (necessarily after a reset point)? DiptanshuTalk 13:32, 4 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Contest edit

Is this contest still on?Why isn’t there any winners after 2014? Angunnu (talk) 06:17, 4 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
