Collaboration of the Month edit

Indian Independence Movement - This is already nominated in FA/GA section. But as said by other editor and it is clear that it is nowhere near GA or FA status. It is eligible C-class (which is in a bad condition). People on 15th August will surely open this page and ready. If we cannot make it a GA or FA then at least we can improve this to some extent. I'll not only be a privilege to people reading it but also our some contribution towards the scarifies done at that time :) — TheSpecialUser (TSU) 08:19, 17 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

FA/GA of the month edit

  • Subhas Chandra Bose – Netaji was the most formidable and resourceful opponent of the British Crown, and the only senior independence leader to violently resist them. Independence Day will be soon approaching. We should try to get this article promoted to GA by 15 August. Joyson Prabhu Holla at me! 03:09, 15 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
    •   Comment: I agree that the article should be improved, but it looks too tough. A huge number of refs, copy-editing, neutrality fix (which not many can do) is needed. Since last 3 times, we are having tough articles so I was expecting a relatively easy article to work on. — TheSpecialUser (TSU) 07:47, 15 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
    •   Comment: It was this reason I'd voted for the independence related articles for July COTM. Nevertheless, its 15th today. Some other nominations might come in the coming days. But, we can start working on this article or the one voted below and make any of them a GA. We'll do this article alongwith the regular one for August. In short one normal collaboration and two for GA, one of them being the independence related. Or maybe the independence related as a GA and two articles for the normal collaboration. Whatsay folks? BPositive (talk) 13:58, 15 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
      • Good idea! I think that 2 GA would be great keeping in mind that the topics are relatively easy. — TheSpecialUser (TSU) 14:04, 15 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Hmmm, lets see what others have to say about this. BPositive (talk) 15:02, 15 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
The article is more or less complete. Only the intro needs to be expanded, and the neutrality issue needs to be fixed. If enough people vote for this, I promise to take care of the incredibly tedious work of copy-editing, link archiving and MOS issues. Joyson Prabhu Holla at me! 04:35, 16 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Almost half of the article is unsourced which is indeed the main issue. I'll fix neutrality if this passes but too hard to fix the ref problem in 1 month or 15 days. — TheSpecialUser (TSU) 04:41, 16 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Titodutta and Dwaipayanc are the two main contributors of the article, and are still active. If either of them were to help and fix the referencing issue, then the article might have a shot at passing GA. Joyson Prabhu Holla at me! 04:58, 16 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
I have already started working for references and I don't think it would be that difficult to complete till 15th August. Supporting the idea of having two GAs -- Barkha talk 18:06, 16 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Splendid! Joyson Prabhu Holla at me! 05:01, 17 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
I contributed to this article several years back. The main hurdle is the political philosophy section. Otherwise, the article is in pretty good shape now. This can be worked on. As of now, easier to improve compared to Indian independence movement.--Dwaipayan (talk) 20:51, 16 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Article needs lots of additional citations! And there are few more things--Tito Dutta 23:53, 16 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Titodutta and Dwaipayanc are the two main contributors of the article, and are still active.
– Joyson Prabhu, though currently not very active, this editor  Rueben lys deserves the first credit (not me). With so many Subhas Bose, India related article creation, expansion, template creating he is a true star there,! --Tito Dutta 00:23, 17 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
I know about that fellow. I admire his work on Hindu-German conspiracy. Too bad he's inactive. Joyson Prabhu Holla at me! 04:59, 17 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

The bottom line guys; This article is "extremely" tough to get to GA status. Yes ofcourse, we can improve it but it won't be near GA in 1 month. Perhaps we can make this article Collaboration of the month rather then GA of the month?? — TheSpecialUser (TSU) 08:23, 17 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • Indian Independence Day - Remember fellows? 15th August? Won't it be great if we can improve it a bit till 15th August, so that people when reached this article, they can get the best of it? Also, this is very easy. Not a big article and just needs few refs, little info and copy-edits. It is an easy GA to go comparatively and also a tribute for the day. — TheSpecialUser (TSU) 07:45, 15 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
This would probably be the easiest, as the coverage demand may not be much. The short history of independence movement needs to be brushed. I see several citation needed templates though. This is probably most important as a link of this will be on the main page on Indepence Day.--Dwaipayan (talk) 20:51, 16 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Believe me, this is never a candidate for FAC, the topic is very very difficult (I had worked on this in the past, so know the difficulty). I am not much aware of the rigorousness of GA nom. May be ok for GA nom.--Dwaipayan (talk) 20:51, 16 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Number of collaborations per month edit

Hi, are we just doing a single collaboration for a month? Previously, we used to have 2 - one normal and other one used to be FA/GA of the month. Clarifying this, as I don't see separate sections on the nominations page for the same. BPositive (talk) 10:30, 12 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

One step at a time. Let's succeed with this first.  :) AshLin (talk) 10:35, 12 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
