Joining edit

I know I’ve only been here a few days, but can I join the blitz? Amogha missile needs attention... @Tenryuu: — Preceding unsigned comment added by Total Eclipse 2017 (talkcontribs) 19:16, 14 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Amogha missile edit

How do I mark that Amogha missile is complete in the article list? @Puddleglum2.0: Total Eclipse 2017 (talk) 19:57, 14 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Total Eclipse 2017 while you're working on an article you can put a {{Working}} template directly after the article name. when you're done, simply replace the working tag with {{Done}} and update your article list. You can find better instructions in the instructions section on the blitz page. Thanks! --Puddleglum2.0(How's my driving?) 20:11, 14 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Also, remember to sign immediately after the templates. --Puddleglum2.0(How's my driving?) 20:13, 14 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

IV Corps edit

Hi all, I'm not quite sure where to ask this, so I'm just coming here for now. I am copyediting the article IV Corps (India), but the entire first section (IV Corps in the India-Pakistan War of 1970) appears to be a quote. If I understand correctly, I shouldn't copyedit that section, correct? It's most of the article, so I'm not quite sure what to do. Thanks! --Puddleglum2.0(How's my driving?) 14:52, 18 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your help, Puddleglum2.0. You're right; quotations should be left as is, except for correcting obvious errors or omissions with square brackets or {{sic}}. Since that wall of quote is unsourced (and, if sourced and relevant, should be a block quote), it should be tagged with {{citation needed}}. Have fun and all the best, Miniapolis 15:31, 18 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  Like Thanks Miniapolis! --Puddleglum2.0(How's my driving?) 15:36, 18 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
This article is almost entirely a copyright violation, apparently, of this book. The text in question is on page 28. Here's a copyvio search. The best thing to do at this point is to remove the quotation marks from that section and completely paraphrase it (while shortening it, IMO), or just mark that whole section with a copyvio template. – Jonesey95 (talk) 15:42, 18 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Hi all, I've removed the section completely but it's still in the article history if you wish to access it to paraphrase the text. I should have spotted this when I did my triage; sorry. Cheers, Baffle☿gab 22:31, 18 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! edit

G'day GOCE blitzers! Thanks for your collective efforts on the Milhist Indian task force articles needing attention to grammar. Several articles have had their assessment upgraded thanks to your copy-editing efforts, and others have been significantly improved. Great work! Glad to help! Stay safe and all the best, Miniapolis 17:25, 19 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
