Drive goals edit

One of the drive goals has been met: to finish all of the July entries on the Requests page. Should August be added to the list, so we're still pointing people at the Requests page? BlueMoonset (talk) 03:06, 21 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Sounds good to me, although I wish more editors (especially those new to copyediting) would work on the backlog  . All the best, Miniapolis 13:33, 21 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
I don't see the need for it, since the link to Requests is still active, and all Requests count for a 50% bonus. I think it is useful for morale to declare victory every once in a while rather than moving the goalposts. The backlog needs attention. – Jonesey95 (talk) 14:27, 21 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
I agree with Jonesey95 - simply noting victory on that point might be encouraging to see and it might help to spur others to focus solely on the backlog. -Pax Verbum 18:18, 21 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Martin Allen (numismatist)‎ edit

Greeting fellow copy editors! If you have a moment, I would appreciate a bit of advice on this article, Martin Allen (numismatist). The subject's publications are simply listed with no prose. In order to make it a bit easier for the reader and clear up another tag or two from the top of the article, I was thinking of writing a short section (like 200 words or thereabouts, if that) detailing some of the topics in which Allen is published. Am I on the right track here? Thanks for your insight! -Pax Verbum 18:50, 21 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

It is OK to have a list of selected publications, but this list dominates the article and is too long. The title formatting also needs fixing, per MOS's titles section and MOS:CURLY. – Jonesey95 (talk) 20:06, 21 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yes, those titles are definitely on my radar; I was just brushing up on the MOS a few minutes ago as I know in RL writing they would be wrong, but I couldn't remember if WP had any particular oddities that I was unaware of. I'll go through and see if I can select a few "greatest hits" for the selected works. Thank you for the feedback! -Pax Verbum 21:26, 21 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
