Lowest total backlog count ever edit

Congratulations to all concerned: the backlog is currently at 1,352, which is the lowest in GOCE drive history, and continues to drop at a gratifying rate. BlueMoonset (talk) 15:42, 12 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Yes, this is great work! A combination of working diligently on the oldest articles (down from 174 to 102 so far this month) and picking some of the low-hanging fruit from the newer months is paying off nicely. – Jonesey95 (talk) 16:14, 12 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
Nice to know that everyone's doing so much great copyediting! Noah Kastin (talk) (🖋) 10:19, 20 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Can we clear March 2017? edit

We need to edit just five March 2017 articles per day for the remainder of the month to clear the three oldest months of the backlog during this drive! We have averaged six old articles per day so far this month, so with a bit of a push, we should be able to make it. Go team! – Jonesey95 (talk) 22:12, 22 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Edited above to change from March 2016 to March 2017—we're working on this year! BlueMoonset (talk) 02:13, 23 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
Done! We did it! Can we get below 1,000 total articles by the end of the day? Seven hours to go – find some short articles and tidy up the prose! – Jonesey95 (talk) 15:54, 30 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
Short articles? I beg your pardon! Lfstevens (talk) 02:19, 1 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
You got almost all of the really short ones, Mr. Shorty (or Ms.? I forget how to check an editor's self-specified gender.). By "short", I meant shorter than 1,000 words! That's what you left for us, and we love you for it. – Jonesey95 (talk) 02:41, 1 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

ENGVAR edit

Just FYI, an editor reverted some of my copyedit on Alignment (role-playing games) over WP:ENGVAR. It shouldn't be a problem, but there's the odd chance the editor may flip on the copyedit tag again. – Reidgreg (talk) 19:47, 23 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Asking for a reviewer edit

Hello- I recently copy edited a article. Since I have not done much copy editing, can someone do a quick look over to see if I missed anything or if I changed something that was already correct? Thank you for all your help. Cocohead781 (talk) 07:23, 26 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your help, but for the most part your edits were neutral (many aspects of copyediting are judgment calls) or didn't improve the article. Don't be discouraged, though; check out Wikipedia:Basic copyediting and Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/How to, and keep at it—you'll improve as you go along. All the best, Miniapolis 17:14, 26 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

November 30? edit

Didn't see the table entry for November 30 on the "finished" page. Lfstevens (talk) 00:41, 1 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Lfstevens, Jonesey95 posted it the same minute you posted this. Down to 997 articles, due in large part to your herculean efforts! BlueMoonset (talk) 00:59, 1 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Sub-K! edit

We did it! For the first time in recorded history, the backlog is under one thousand! Well done, everyone who copy edited an article this month! Tdslk (talk) 01:01, 1 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
