Suggestions edit

Several suggestions:

1: It would be useful if this project could offer guidance in choice of spelling of placenames in Nepal - there have been several recent confusions caused by different English versions of placenames. Hyatung Falls or Hyatrung Waterfall, several variations on Kavrepalanchowk District, Zosi and Zoshi, etc. It would need to tie in with Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Indic) and Wikipedia:Naming conventions (geographic names).

2: In the Project Page, under "Templates", instead of advising use of {{Nepal-geo-stub}} it would be useful to point out that there are templates for each of the 14 zones, such as {{Bagmati-geo-stub}}, and it would be useful if editors used the more precise stub templates, which can be found through Category:Nepal geography stubs.

3: It would also be useful to draw attention to the hierarchy of categories such as Category:Populated places in Bhaktapur District which can be found by looking at the subcategories of Category:Populated places in Nepal. I think they probably exist for all 75 districts.

4: And please remind editors to create as many redirects as seem useful, from all alternative spellings of placenames, to reduce the chance of accidental duplication of articles and to help all readers find the article regardless of which variation of the name they type.

5: This project does not seem to be mentioned on the project page for Wikipedia:WikiProject Nepal, which seems very strange. Has it been properly proposed as a WikiProject? See Wikipedia:WikiProject#Creating_and_maintaining_a_project.

A new newsletter directory is out! edit

A new Newsletter directory has been created to replace the old, out-of-date one. If your WikiProject and its taskforces have newsletters (even inactive ones), or if you know of a missing newsletter (including from sister projects like WikiSpecies), please include it in the directory! The template can be a bit tricky, so if you need help, just post the newsletter on the template's talk page and someone will add it for you.
