Subportals of current events MfD

The "In The News" section on the main page is broken. Whereas all of the other sections, like Featured Articles, get updated every day, ITN gets two or three new news items a week. The same picture of Fernando Lugo has been on ITN since April 20, almost two weeks. In addition, deaths like Arthur C. Clarke don't make it to the main page, nor items of "local" interest like the London mayoral election. I think we need to make ITN more open and dynamic. voting system
i'm looking to addapted a voting system to all articles so as to know what articles have top votes at given times so as to also show wiki awards at every seconde, minute, hour or so for modifications, creations, etc...

Request for comment on Biographies of living people
Hello Wikiproject! Currently there is a discussion which will decide whether wikipedia will delete 49,000 articles about a living person without references, here:

Since biographies of living people covers so many topics, nearly all wikiproject topics will be effected.
The two opposing positions which have the most support is:
- supports the deletion of unreferenced articles about a living person, User:Jehochman
- opposes the deletion of unreferenced articles about a living person, except in limited circumstances, User:Collect
Comments are welcome. Keep in mind that by default, editor's comments are hidden. Simply press edit next to the section to add your comment.
Please keep in mind that at this point, it seems that editors support deleting unreferenced BLP articles if they are not sourced, so your project may want to source these articles as soon as possible. See the next, message, which may help.

Obsolete activities on the main page
The following three sections were included on the main page as current plans or activities, but I find them rather obsolete, so I moved them to here. Current events Article and Archives
At the end of each month, the current current events page is moved to a monthly archive page (e.g. March 2006). Over the years, the format of these monthly pages have been changed an altered a significant number of times. As a result, there is currently no standard on how these monthly pages should look. However, some standardization suggestions include:
- Ordering dates of the months in forward alphabetical order (suggested by GT)
- Eliminate the daily article-templates as seen in almost all months between 2003 and 2005 (i.e. all days between January 1, 2005 and January 31, 2005 are "templated" into January 2005)
On the main current events page, some plans include:
- Merging unnecessary sub-articles (e.g. Current events in Africa) back into the main current events article (suggested by Pcb21)
- Ensuring appropriate events receive context according to Wikipedia:How the Current events page works
In both the archives and the current current events page, objectives include:
- Ensuring news items of international interest are included

Articles About Current Events
Another objective crucial to the WikiProject is expanding articles about current events. Some potential project collaborations include:
- 2008 Russian submarine accident
- 2008 Pétion-Ville school collapse
- Your article here
Depending on how quickly a decent number of editors join the project, we can get working on improving one of the above articles very soon.
Years
One possibly objective is to collaborate with WikiProject Years to work on a standardization of the current events on that page. Each year article (e.g. 2006) should include only significant events of international importance. Perhaps a more clear-cut standard can be developed in collaboration with WikiProject Years.
Comment on the WikiProject X proposal
Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. The European Union turning totalitarian?
I apologise about not knowing where else to go with this information, but I just learned that the French and German governments are planning to turn the European Union into a totalitarian superstate, and wonder if anybody might be willing to start an article about this topic?

WikiProject collaboration notice from the Portals WikiProject
The reason I am contacting you is because there are one or more portals that fall under this subject, and the Portals WikiProject is currently undertaking a major drive to automate portals that may affect them.
Portals are being redesigned.
The new design features are being applied to existing portals.
At present, we are gearing up for a maintenance pass of portals in which the introduction section will be upgraded to no longer need a subpage. In place of static copied and pasted excerpts will be self-updating excerpts displayed through selective transclusion, using the template {{Transclude lead excerpt}}.
The discussion about this can be found here.
Maintainers of specific portals are encouraged to sign up as project members here, noting the portals they maintain, so that those portals are skipped by the maintenance pass. Currently, we are interested in upgrading neglected and abandoned portals. There will be opportunity for maintained portals to opt-in later, or the portal maintainers can handle upgrading (the portals they maintain) personally at any time.
Background
On April 8th, 2018, an RfC ("Request for comment") proposal was made to eliminate all portals and the portal namespace. On April 17th, the Portals WikiProject was rebooted to handle the revitalization of the portal system. On May 12th, the RfC was closed with the result to keep portals, by a margin of about 2 to 1 in favor of keeping portals.
Since the reboot, the Portals WikiProject has been busy building tools and components to upgrade portals.
So far, 84 editors have joined.

A new newsletter directory is out!
A new Newsletter directory has been created to replace the old, out-of-date one. If your WikiProject and its taskforces have newsletters (even inactive ones), or if you know of a missing newsletter (including from sister projects like WikiSpecies), please include it in the directory! The template can be a bit tricky, so if you need help, just post the newsletter on the template's talk page and someone will add it for you.

Suggestions
It looks like you are interested in the monthly current events page and organizing things, but I also suggest working on stub news articles. In particular, Africa-related news items often are neglected. These would be good for the collaborations, for example the 2006 Horn of Africa food crisis article. I did a little bit of work there, when it was featured on "In the news", but it still needs major work. Several people working together to find more sources and details, and improving the article could go a long way. --Aude (talk | contribs) 02:11, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

Current events portal
There is discussion about moving the Current events page to the portal namespace, Portal:Current events. Design changes to the current events page would be minimal, though open for discussion. Wikipedia Day Awards
Hello, all. It was initially my hope to try to have this done as part of Esperanza's proposal for an appreciation week to end on Wikipedia Day, January 15. However, several people have once again proposed the entirety of Esperanza for deletion, so that might not work. It was the intention of the Appreciation Week proposal to set aside a given time when the various individuals who have made significant, valuable contributions to the encyclopedia would be recognized and honored. I believe that, with some effort, this could still be done. My proposal is to, with luck, try to organize the various WikiProjects and other entities of wikipedia to take part in a larger celebrartion of its contributors to take place in January, probably beginning January 15, 2007. I have created yet another new subpage for myself (a weakness of mine, I'm afraid) at User talk:Badbilltucker/Appreciation Week where I would greatly appreciate any indications from the members of this project as to whether and how they might be willing and/or able to assist in recognizing the contributions of our editors. Sub-Article Merges
All of the regional articles in the {{Current events articles}} template need to be merged. They are all very short articles that aren't updated often. Perhaps they can be merged into one page entitled Regional current events or National current events. Then, like with the current Current events in Malaysia and Singapore article, we could possibly use flags to help denote the countries in which current events occur:

- I disagree about merging everything. I'd however agree to a regional's current events page, i.e. for southeast asia, Msia+sg+thai+etc within Southeast Asia; for europe, africa, east asia, south east etc. In this way, it provides focus on a region. __earth (Talk) 02:38, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
- I also disagree. Current events in Australia and New Zealand is updated about three times a week on average; I see 12 stories at April 2006 in Australia and New Zealand and 16 at March 2006 in Australia and New Zealand. There hasn't been a story in May yet, but this is the first day of the month. I have no objection to the inactive current events pages (where inactive means perhaps that there has been no update for a month) being removed from the {{Current events articles}} template so they remain as an archive should a new and keen maintainer comes along to restart them. Merger of some pages may help as well. If we extended the Australia and New Zealand page to cover all of Oceania, then the dozen or so stories covered by Portal:Oceania each month would be added to that page. However I did suggest that some months ago (at Talk:Current events in Australia and New Zealand, and no one responded.-gadfium 03:26, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

- Continent is good but for continent like Asia, I think it's better to subdivide into subregion. Again, I would support Malaysia+Singapore and Thailand's current events pages into Southeast Asia current events. I am also opposed to any merger of active events pages. The current events in Australia and New Zealand forms the basis for the "Years in Australia/New Zealand" series.--cj | talk 09:43, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
- I am also opposed to this merger suggestion. This merger proposal needs to be thought through at a more granular level. For example, merging Chinese current events with Current events in Hong Kong and Macao might help both groups, but other groups, such as Current events in Australia and New Zealand seem to be achieving critical mass. This wouldn't work. There are many, many example of current events that are highly significant to residents of a particular country but that residents of neighboring countries have never heard of. Local politics, local celebrities, etc. are often known only locally. If regional pages were created, they should be in addition to rather than instead of country pages. -- Curps 04:51, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
Could someone who knows how please place the merge tag on British and Irish current events, Indian current events and possibly the List of current events articles by region. At the moment, it appears that the editors of Indian current events may not even be aware that you are suggesting merging their page with Pakistan current events. - Strong Oppose I just noticed the flag slapped to Indian current events. Do you call this April 2006 in India and this March_2006_in_India not updated often? As a encyclopedia, we should store a timeline of news events with wiki-links to the actual articles. Wikinews has a different purpose to report news as it happens. - I have just noticed that Current events in Hong Kong and Macao was made a redirection to Current events in East Asia as a result of a merge. Seeing that the discussion here has yielded no consensus, I have reverted that particular edit at Current events in Hong Kong and Macao, and this is to let you know as courtesy. - In reply to joturner: I do not have any particular problem with the merger; I just think that due process should be observed, and if a merger has been proposed but no consensus can be formed, we should respect that and the status quo and wait till a better timing to re-propose the merger.
- I do recognise that Current events in Hong Kong and Macao has been a poorly maintained page; I'll try to raise this issue to the attention of the fellow editors at Wikipedia:HK wikipedians' notice board and hopefully will re-ignite their interest here. - I have changed my view. I now believe the regional pages should be merged into Portal:Current events. I used the example of Current events in Australia and New Zealand as an example of a successful regional page before. This has expanded to become Portal:Current events/Oceania, but the quality of coverage of Australian events has dropped. Very few editors apart from myself contribute stories to it. Most of the other regional news pages are in worse shape.-gadfium 05:47, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

I think this idea should be considered, although it would take quite a bit of (hu)manpower to update all the past monthly articles to fit this standard. joturner 01:40, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
- This would be pretty easy actually, given that all of Jan2003-Dec2005 are templated, it's just a question of reordering the template transclusions - easy for a human or a bot. I agree with GT that we should go for the natural order rather than backwards. Pcb21 Pete 10:33, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

This one has really bothered me. Every day for quite a few years, until the practice was stopped a few months ago, is archived using articles for individual dates. Those individual dates are then included in the monthly articles. joturner 01:40, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Jo. Thanks for your note on my talk page. Out of interest why does this bother you? I have quite a few ideas for turning current events into a really useful page - but it would actually involve making more of this day pages - but useful ones rather than dumb inclusions. - Actually, it's really the pointlessness that bothers me (although I may have exaggerated this a bit). I still can't figured out why someone decided to archive the months that way in the first place. If you have an idea to make those templates, and the archive pages in general, more useful, I'd be glad to here what you have in mind. joturner 20:40, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
- My take is that it is a half-finished job. A serious problem at the moment is that we link to dates in the format Month Day and Year. These links are pretty useless in my view because a) they have to cover such a massive amount of data that they never give any context to the date where you have just come from b) Whatlinkshere is useless (each page has thousands and in some case hundreds of thousands of incoming links).
- A way of solving the issue is, for dates for which we have lots of information i.e. 2003-onwards, to link to single dates such as Month Day, Year. Hence creating those pages. So they are not pointless. But they are not that great. I think we could really improve Wikipedia by
- a) merging all the current events pages (i.e. current events, current events in the UK, current events in Africa) etc into one.
- b) this makes the amount of data for each date larger, but more structured.
- c) so instead of doing this awkward template transclusion into Month Year, Month Year becomes an overview of the month, picking out most important events, and linking to all the day subpages.
- d) Each single date page Month Day, Year has links to Month Year, Month Day and Year so all other material is just a click away
- e) Another happy result is that Wikipedia automatically builds a Year Book as found in all other major encyclopedias, so we stop being deficient there
- f) We can start being cleverer about using Wikinews.
- Ideally I will have done a good selling job on how we can improve massively on the current system as it solves the date-linking AND current events AND template confusion issues in one go. What do you think? Pcb21 Pete 07:21, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
- Interesting ideas about turning the monthly pages into records of the most notable events. The only problem is that it's an additional burden to have to maintain separate pages like that, especially when it comes to making sure certain events appear on not just one but both lists. Without committed maintainers the whole thing would be a disaster. Also, who decides what is important enough to list on the monthly page? That is a potential headache. But if you did want to just select a small number of key events during a month there's no reason they couldn't just go at the top of the page in some sort of "Most important events" section.
- I won't give up on your idea but my preference would be to keep things the way they're done now, create redirects corresponding with every date (March 19, 2006) to the day's entry on the month page (March 2006#19 March 2006), and then just refer to dates as such: "On March 19, 2006, the president announced...". Often the year is an important enough context to deserve its own link separate from the day and in many cases that year link is to something specialized like 2006 in music and that's something we'd lose by just linking to the date in full. Avoid duplication
If you look at (for example) February 16 and February 2006, you see a lot of overlap, which is what happened on February 16, 2006. This information is created, sourced, corrected and updated (or not) separately, inevitably with the result that some major events are only listed by month+day or by month+year. And then there are the years like 2006. For example, February 16 lists no events at all for 2006, 2006 lists one event for February 16 (Kobe Airport opens), and February 2006 has ten events for February 16, but not the opening of Kobe. If that was the most significant event on that date, then February 2006 is really off. But if it is less important than the other ten listed on February 2006, then 2006 has a strange choice. And I'm pretty sure that some of the February 16, 2006 events are more notable than many of those listed by February 16 for other years.
So a possible objective might be to avoid such duplicating overlap. That would probably mean embracing templates wholesale, such as was done for January 1, 2003 to December 31, 2005. Using "<noinclude>...</noinclude>" with a suitable text the risk might be avoided that these are taken for independent articles, like happened to June 1, 2003. Actually, they could live in Template: space. Or perhaps some space newly created for this purpose. Just an idea. LambiamTalk 20:58, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
- I was never really fond of that inclusion for 2003-2005. However, I do see the inconsistency between the year, month, and date articles. I think the February 16 article is correct in not having anything for 2006, but February 2006 is correct in being comprehensive. 2006 listing an event for February 16, however, is not good. I believe the date articles should contain the most important events of all-time that occured on that date, the year articles should contain the most important events of the year (and the most important events from the individual months), and the month articles should be comprehensive containing those events on the year and date pages and then some. joturner 04:15, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
Ending monthly archival
I just noticed something today that made me come around on the templates. Since today is May 1, the beginning of a month, Current events only contains events for that day. If we used templates it would be trivial to just leave the last few days of April up on that page, or even just all-out turn the Current events article into a page always consisting of the templates of the last (fixed number) days. Every night a person or a bot could stick the new day at the top and remove the oldest day. Furthermore the current monthly page would fill up as the individual day templates received entries during their presence on the Current events page and there would be no need to do any sort of change-over at the end of the month other than maybe switching the "List of deaths" template on Current events to that of the new month, and things of that sort. — GT 08:00, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

WP:CEN is now open!
To all interested parties: Now that it has a proper shortcut, the current events noticeboard has now officially opened for discussion!
WP:CEN came about as an idea I explored through a request for comment that closed last March. Recent research has re-opened the debate on Wikipedia's role in a changing faster-paced internet. Questions of WP:NOTNEWS and WP:Recentism are still floating around. That being said, there are still plenty of articles to write and hopefully this noticeboard can positively contribute to that critical process.

I would like to look at some ideas for getting this WikiProject to semi-active status. that means providing some updated resources, and providing some items and information that might be helpful to others editing this area. I wouldn't presume to label this as "fully active" unless we get some real foot traffic here. however, I have some material below that I'd like to add to this page. Also, I've put in a request for "article alerts" to be generated for this WikiProject, so that will create an automated feature that might be useful to editors interested in this area.

- Sm8900 sorry for getting back so late. I took a break from editing Wikipedia and recently ‘re-revived’ the WikiProject. I see you are the lead coordinator on the History WikiProject. One thing the Portal:Current events has often is new/stub articles over the ‘current event’ of the day. One main goal of the project is deciding events to put in the Portal:Current events, but the other main goal is expanding those stub/new articles during the 7 days that are listed in the Portal. - The article looks really good for a structure/scope. I did notice a handful (Maybe 10-15) red links throughout the article. I also saw a few sections without any information. Content wise, the article is solid (Of course all articles can be improved), but in general, it is solid. For some of the content (Very small amount), I would maybe argue some is not ‘Politic history’, but that is my opinion. I have recently created 3 proposals to substantially increase the usefulness and of Wikipedia's Current events (mainly related to the Current events portal).
Not many users have commented there and maybe you are interested. I don't know how active this WikiProject is but I'd suggest implementing these first to make any other work by the project more useful and integrated in a coherent, frequented, useful overview/s.
If you know of other, possibly more active, related places to ask for more comments please let me know.
I hope you can see usefulness in modernizing Portal:Current events and related content/software.
TfD of a template for an embeddable, collapsed panel of the Current events that shows on mobile
I created Template:Current events portal for an embeddable, collapsed panel of the Current events that could be added to articles like 2020, which would make each page more useful and give the Portal:Current events a higher visibility. The existing portal templates are not visible on mobile at all with only a few rarely-used exceptions which can't be aligned to the right of a page as would be best for the article 2020.
Templates still can't be uncollapsed on mobile – this would require MediaWiki software changes to modernize the software to fully support mobile browsers. Under the Template documentation I have added the template as it was/is supposed to look like, which works properly on desktop.
I think the template is still useful as:
- the template could be used as is before the MediaWiki software gets improved to better support mobile
- maybe it's possible to show the template as is for the mobile view but display the template currently in the template documentation for the desktop view so that embedding the collapsed panel at least works on desktop
- it could be iteratively improved by e.g. adding an icon or via other things
- the existing templates (like {{portal|Current events}}) can't be aligned to the right
As a sidenote the template was intended to only embed the fairly short "Ongoing events" part of the Portal:Current events and not the entire panel but this doesn't seem to be possible as of right now without a change to the portal (but maybe it'll be possible later). This would be for a later discussion / a separate phabricator issue.

Filtering Portal:Current events items by type
I think it would be great if it was possible to filter the displayed events in Portal:Current events by type.
For example I'd like to filter the page so that it only displays events of "Health and environment" and "Science and technology".
Filters are already implemented for the Watchlist. The same, already coded software, could be used here after a few small changes.
What do you think of this? Further details in the discussion linked below.
I'd add that this could be used for RSS-feeds or newsletters and the like later on (RSS would show items that have persisted on the page for 3 days and would update with items that have not been displayed to the user, not the most recent items sorted by date).
One thing that seems to work is transcluding selected current events like so: {{Transclude selected current events|[Aa]stronom|days=365|dates=dmy}}
as done on Portal:Astronomy but this can't be done on the page itself.

Adapting Portal:Current events to mobile
Especially if we make links to Portal:Current events more visible on mobile – e.g. via the template suggested above that's visible on mobile – that page should be mobile-ready (like basically all websites that are even just remotely as large as Wikipedia). To this end I checked how the nested list of Portal:Current events looks on a mobile phone. On the right you can find a screenshot of it.
As you can hopefully see, the text is crammed to the right of the page – something you'll never find on comparable websites which are often even designed with a "mobile-first"-approach to make absolutely sure the mobile view is perfectly supported.
I have suggested "adapting nested lists to mobile". It's probably only suited for a phabricator issue but I wished to gather some alternative solutions and improvised solutions (1 so far). At first I thought the nested list could be replaced via the use of arrows (→) but this doesn't work well with multiple subitems of a bullet-point.

The WikiProject is going to have a list of every article that it is related too, and that includes the hundreds of COVID-19 articles. Currently, a list is being created of every article the WikiProject is active in, however, a giant long list of articles isn’t the best way for organization. Wikiproject supersession?
The front page states: "Technical Note: Due to the fact the the WikiProject only works with articles for a short period of time, the WikiProject "supersedes" (Not really, but mainly in discussions) over WikiProjects during the time where the Current Event WikiProject is active in the article." In what sense might it '"supersede" over' others? Why's this a "technical" note? Perhaps something to do with talk-page banner placement? - In my interpretation, I take it to mean that the WikiProject guidelines and local consensus of the current events project should be the dominant guidelines adhered to during the time an article is deemed a current event. So, if the subject of an article is a film or is politics-related, any local MOS or editing guidance from those projects - if they conflict with current events guidance - will be "superseded" by the current events guidance if necessary. More generally, it also suggests there may be less leniency towards editors violating the Wikipedia pillars, as current events articles are generally more prominent and often aim for main page standards (whether linked from MP or not). - The gist of "less leniency" makes reasonable sense. If a bunch of editors show up anywhere and decide to edit an article to be more in line with policy and guidelines, people can hardly object to that. Well doubtless they will anyway, but "this is topical, we have to cut the cruft and get it shipshape" ought to be a telling argument. It's a bit odder to suggest that one set of guidelines would replace another -- could be read as having something of a whiff of a change of WP:OWNership. Could this wording maybe be looked at and worked on a little? For one thing, "supersede over" as an alleged phrasal verb construction makes me want to drop my blue pencil, and apply my highest-gauge of red. But more pertinently, anything one has to scare-quote isn't going to be the most expressive word choice. And it just lacks any useful specificity. Elijahandskip's observation about CEP and RAPID are useful clarifications as to why this might indeed be a "technical" thing, thanks. Perhaps those should be mentioned explicitly in the cause of making this clearer? User script to detect unreliable sources
I have (with the help of others) made a small user script to detect and highlight various links to unreliable sources and predatory journals. Some of you may already be familiar with it, given it is currently the 39th most imported script on Wikipedia. The idea is that it takes something like

The script is mostly based on WP:RSPSOURCES, WP:NPPSG and WP:CITEWATCH and a good dose of common sense. I'm always expanding coverage and tweaking the script's logic, so general feedback and suggestions to expand coverage to other unreliable sources are always welcomed.

Some new resources for covering current history
Hi. I am a coordinator at WikiProject History, and also the coordinator for the Contemporary Task Force, which is part of that WikiProject. I have begun to set up some new resources for covering current history. I have set up a new category tree for Category:Decade overviews. Additonally, I have modified some sections of two entries for contemporary history, to add some general sections that will be structured chronologically. you can view these articles at 2020s in political history, and 2020s in United States political history. China's real estate crisis
Anyone's thoughts/ideas on what to do about China's unfolding crisis?
China experienced a[nother] huge housing bubble as prices soared causing people to invest tons of money into real estate while real estate companies took on huge amounts of debt to fund these buildings. This got so big that people owned 3 or 4 homes (and/or apartment complexes!) but only lived in one, put mortgages on properties before they were built and actually put their life savings into this industry. And all this time they didn't care to look into the companies financials because hey, they were "to big to fail!" (probably didn't say that).
Well in September 2021, China put restrictions on how much debt companies could have and well, I think you could see what happened next. In December, Evergande, China's biggest real estate company, defaulted on their debt. This was followed in the ensuing months by dozens of other real estate companies as people began to realize how shady these companies really were. As a result building has slowed to a halt as people began to spend less on real estate. In protest of all of this, Chinese people have begun stop paying their mortgages. Because many of these are on undeveloped properties, there's nothing to back up the mortgage when it defaults which is putting strain on the banks which sense 7/10 largest companies in China are banks. These protesters have often done so in public and there have been videos of them violent and also tanks in the streets. But on the economic side, this is a serious problem similar to that of 2007-2008, just far worse. There are rumors that the Chinese government is considering bailing them out, but it's unclear how much pain this will alleviate.
Also, real estate makes up 25%(!!!) of China's GDP and sales are expected to fall 30%. Jamisonsupame (talk) 01:10, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

Project-independent quality assessments
Quality assessments by Wikipedia editors rate articles in terms of completeness, organization, prose quality, sourcing, etc. Most wikiprojects follow the general guidelines at Wikipedia:Content assessment, but some have specialized assessment guidelines. A recent Village pump proposal was approved and has been implemented to add a |class=
parameter to {{WikiProject banner shell}}, which can display a general quality assessment for an article, and to let project banner templates "inherit" this assessment.
No action is required if your wikiproject follows the standard assessment approach. Over time, quality assessments will be migrated up to {{WikiProject banner shell}}, and your project banner will automatically "inherit" any changes to the general assessments for the purpose of assigning categories.
However, if your project has decided to "opt out" and follow a non-standard quality assessment approach, all you have to do is modify your wikiproject banner template to pass {{WPBannerMeta}} a new |QUALITY_CRITERIA=custom
parameter. If this is done, changes to the general quality assessment will be ignored, and your project-level assessment will be displayed and used to create categories, as at present. Aymatth2 (talk) 13:57, 10 April 2023 (UTC)
