So what's the next collaboration of the month? --Media anthro 10:55, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

Proposed series of 'core anthropology' collaborations

edit

I refer all project members and others who may be interested in collaborating, to Robotforaday (talk)'s recent review/assessment of the state of core anthropology articles on Wikipedia here.

It would seem a WikiProject Anthropology collaborations recruitment exercise of some kind will be required to see anthropology better represented .. and Robotforaday (talk) would seem to be a good starting point ... though it will still be slow work doing only one a month ..

Perhaps, on this project page, the current nominal collaboration can be replaced with TWO nominated (and supported?) collaborations drawn initially from Robotforaday (talk) alphabeticised list? I myself, for instance, would nominate:

  • Ethnography - which, it seems, "..says very little about what it actually is - seems to primarily define ethnography as a genre rather than a method, when in fact it is both..."
  • Kinship and Kinship and descent which, it seemss, "..could be two articles, one for kinship and one for descent, but the current set up needs to be resolved. Expansion needed anyway. More ethnographic examples and some kinship diagrams would be useful..."

I'll also now write on WikiProject member's talk pages to see what level of interest and/or agreement might be able to be stirred up! Bruceanthro (talk) 13:52, 20 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
