Pie charts edit

@Arjunaraoc, How about adding pie-charts for the language-share under the demographics section instead of tabular bar chart? 456legend(talk) 12:22, 26 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

@456legend, The language share is already pie chart. Did you mean for religion chart? If so, I think it is better to retain it as bar chart, as one pie chart already exist, to easily distinguish it. I remember studying that assessment of pie chart is more difficult than other charts, as areas are difficult to perceive intuitively than length. What is more important is that religion data is not explained in the section. That needs to be added. Arjunaraoc (talk) 06:51, 27 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Arjunaraoc Sorry for the inconvenience. I was actually referring to religion bar chart. Anyways I understand and it's better to leave it that way considering your opinion, I support what you have said.
Also I wanted to add that, should we bring in consistency regarding the colors on the pie charts? Some districts are following a similar color scheme whereas other follow some other scheme. 456legend(talk) 13:46, 16 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
@456legend Consistency is always good. Please document the proposed color scheme on the project page, as it will help others to follow. Arjunaraoc (talk) 04:23, 17 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Should Politics section follow Panchayat raj related sections(Mandals,Cities)? edit

I noticed that an anonymous editor has moved Politics section so that it follows Demographics, rather than cities and towns as proposed for this sub project. (See the example move) The reasoning behind the proposal was that Politics section links will refer to the mandals, so it is better that it follows Administrative divisions, cities subsections. If the section is to be expanded later to include key people and events, it could include politics spanning from a mandal and city to Parliamentary constituency. The reasoning for keeping Politics immediately after Demographics as per my guess is that the least political entity that is included is larger than other administrative divisions of Panchayat raj institutions (mandals, cities etc.,). This section was not part of structure of WikiProject India districts till date. I request all editors engaged in this sub project to give their feedback within a week, i.e 23 May 2022. Pinging some of the active contributors in this project that I am aware of @456legend, @Jeevan naidu, @daxserver, @Arjayay. Arjunaraoc (talk) 01:26, 16 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
Politics is not necessarily more relavant than administrative divisions. I prefer to prioritise administrative divisions followed by cities and towns, with politics coming last after these two. The existing order is absolutely as it much more organised rather than a mere consideration that the political entities like legislative and parliamentary constituencies are larger than the mandal and other local level entities. (The proposal as per the sub project is completely fine and that is needed to be followed) 456legend(talk) 02:39, 16 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
I would like to add another point in favor of Politics section following admin divisions and cities. After the reorganization of districts in 2022, some assembly constituencies are split across two districts, unlike earlier. So that part of assembly constituency in the district may some time be equal to just a mandal. Arjunaraoc (talk) 04:00, 16 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
As there are no opposing responses, the proposal of Politics section following Administrative divisions , cities and town sections is considered agreed. Arjunaraoc (talk) 23:42, 27 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
District pages, which have progressed to 75% stage have been updated as per the above discussion. Arjunaraoc (talk) 04:56, 1 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
