Articles for the Wikipedia 1.0 project

edit

Hi, I'm a member of the Wikipedia:Version_1.0_Editorial_Team, which is looking to identify quality articles in Wikipedia for future publication on CD or paper. We recently began assessing using these criteria, and we are looking for A-class, B-class, and Good articles, with no POV or copyright problems. Can you recommend any suitable articles? Please post your suggestions here. Thanks a lot! Gflores Talk 17:40, 2 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

From the WP:PCP - I removed some of the worse ones from your list and I also recommend Torchic and Cloyster. --Celestianpower háblame 14:04, 22 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
All right, thanks a lot! Titoxd(?!? - help us) 21:00, 22 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please consider adding Ayrton Senna. Looks to me at least B-class, and he is a legendary figure in his sport. --kingboyk 08:05, 6 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Now listed here, and feel free to add & assess more articles there as you see fit. Thanks, Walkerma 04:39, 7 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Figure Skating

edit

I went ahead and added WikiProject Figure Skating to the list with some article suggestions. I've also copy-and-pasted (what I believe to be) the boilerplate text for this project on our talk page [1]. What happens now? How are the articles assessed? Can WP:Figure Skating do that ourselves, or does the Version 1.0 team do that? --Fang Aili talk 14:54, 5 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

That's great, thank you! The idea is that WikiProjects assess the articles themselves and use it for their own purposes (e.g., WP:Chem uses it to find what to work on next). People in your project know what belongs in a figure skating article, so they definitely should be the people to assess quality, and you are certainly the only people able to judge relative importance to the project. The articles are assessed using this scheme as a guide. Let us know if you need help, we can do some rough assessments for you. Here we mostly collect the data and use the data to find the most important & best quality articles in that subject area. We are revamping the tables to include importance, we will put all of the articles you listed as "Top-Class" (the highest). Many thanks, Walkerma 16:41, 5 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
