The point is that, had Charlie not found the Golden Ticket, he would have been poor and lived a sucky life forever. So the Golden Ticket changed him from dud to stud. I'm not sure that's correct. If you read the book or see the film again, you'll notice that the Golden Ticket had nothing to do with his "change". He had a sense of hope, which by chance, led him to find money to buy the candy bar and gain admittance to the factory. Here, he was able to prove his capability for honesty and trustworthiness. In other words, he never changed at all. I think it's obvious who lived the "poor and sucky life", but it wasn't Charlie. Viriditas (talk) 13:05, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
