Suggestion for improvement edit

This is a great animation and I want to thank its creator. I think it would be improved, however, if the boundaries of the pre-states conformed to their pre-state political boundaries as territories etc. Robert K S 01:28, 4 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I agree... Also, the shapes of the states should conform to their shapes when they were admitted, not their modern boundaries, or all the states should be shown with their modern-day boundaries. Right now, it's a weird mix, with some states being shown admitted with their present-day boundaries, while others are shown with their date-of-admission boundaries. Georgia, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, and possibly Nevada are shown with their present-day boundaries, while Massachusetts is shown quite differently: with the Maine section it had when it became a state. Virginia is illustrated oddly, shown with the territory which later became West Virginia, but without the territory that became Kentucky. Firsfron of Ronchester 06:52, 4 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
I think also that the dates for their admission based on the acceptance of the Articles of Confederation should matter just as well. Too many Americans know little about our actual history and including this information, at least in text via a link to the articles of confederation article is important.
