"National anthems are usually written in the most common language of the state, whether de facto or official. For example, India's anthem "Jana Gana Mana" is written in a Sanskritized version of Bengali, and Sanskrit and Bengali are both official languages of India." That doesn't sound like an example; it sounds like an exception. The most common language of India is Hindi (see the table at Languages of India#Official languages). Being "official languages" doesn't make Sanskrit or Bengali officially the most common language. Art LaPella (talk) 06:59, 31 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
