Donkey Kong 64 is a 1999 platform game developed by Rare and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64. It is the only Donkey Kong game to feature 3D gameplay. As the gorilla Donkey Kong, the player explores themed levels to collect items and rescue his kidnapped family members from King K. Rool. The player completes minigames and puzzles as five playable Kong characters—each with their own special abilities—to receive bananas and other collectibles. In multiplayer modes, up to four players can compete in deathmatch and last man standing games. (Full article...)

Picture of the day for November 24, 2024

The Double Asteroid Redirection Test, abbreviated as DART, was a NASA space mission aimed at testing a method planetary defense against near-Earth objects. The target asteroid, Dimorphos, is a minor-planet moon of the asteroid Didymos. DART was launched on November 24 2021 and had successfully collided with Dimoprhos on 26 September 2022 about 11 million kilometers (6.8 million miles) from Earth. The collision shortened Dimoprhos' orbit by 32 minutes and was achieved by the momentum transfer associated with the recoil of the ejected debris, which was larger than the impact. This video is captured by a 20-centimeter aperture camera called the Didymos Reconnaissance and Asteroid Camera for Optical navigation (DRACO) and shows a compiled timelapse of DART's final 5.5 minutes until impact.

Talk:The_Origin_of_Species#immediately? Please change "and immediately sold out its initial print run." to "and sold out its initial print run on the first day." — Jeandré, 2005-11-24t15:37z

Good idea. Fixed accordingly. Thanks. -- PFHLai 21:22, 24 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

a couple of things

edit

I'd like to suggest a couple of minor chages to the wordings here:

  1. can the link text for the JFK entry be changed to "assassin to US President John F. Kennedy"
  2. I think it would be good to say where the D. B. Cooper incident occured.

Conrad and Isabella

edit

Hi! I cannot edit the page, but I would like to suggest a few changes:

Conrad of Montferrat became de facto King of Jerusalem after marrying Queen Isabella.

Both Conrad and Isabella were de facto and de jure monarchs of Jerusalem. Conrad became de jure uxoris (by the right of wife) King of Jerusalem when he married Isabella. His wife also needs to be distinguished from another Queen of Jerusalem, who is sometimes called Isabella II, so it should be Isabella I. Surtsicna (talk) 18:45, 24 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Where is the death of Freddie Mercury?

As stated in the FAQ above, Births and deaths can only be used on centennials, etc. Zzyzx11 (talk) 06:46, 24 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Israel-Hamas ceasefire

edit

Could the 2023 Israel-Hamas ceasefire which occurred on this day be eligible? The article seems fine. Personisinsterest (talk) 14:34, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
