Shortcut

Isn't a more appropriate shortcut WP:PORPR or WP:PORTPR? WP:PPR, what one would expect, goes to the picture peer review, and the difference between that and this is picture/portal, not peer review. Sorry, I know this is so trivial compared to what I could be doing with my time on Wikipedia, but I just thought I'd mention it. Random subpage template

This request for peer review isn't about a portal, per se, but about a template that can be used in portals, {{Random subpage}}. It's designed for sections like "Did you know..." that include a list of items that can be rotated. The template can be used for a type of "randomized block design" – single items from blocks (consecutively numbered groups) of subpages can be selected to build lists with a specific number of items, one for each template entry. The template works by selecting a numbered subpage from a range of subpages whose "start"ing and "end"ing members can be specified. Using multiple copies of the template with non-overlapping start and end subpage values allows for the random display of an unduplicated list. An example of implementing this list rotation method is at Portal:Religion/Did you know. Your comments on how this works, or more examples of its use would be greatly appreciated. I was wondering how I could

Do any of you know how I could set up logos and text related to portals pretty much the way the Religions portal has it up; in relation to related portals. If anyone could just do it for me, since I'm pretty much cut and paste when it comes to high tech stuff, or else paste it to my talk page and I'll paste and delete it from there. I just want the Judaism, Occult, and Spirituality portals in the link. By the way if you want to go directly to my portal it's Portal:Kabbalah. Lighthead 21:24, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

Peer review template

Starting around February 1, User:GimmeBot is going to be handling archiving for featured portal candidates. That will include archiving portal peer reviews. I've been wanting to implement a different system for the peer review templates. Basically, you would subst: something like {{PPR}} on the talk page, and it would create a tranclusion of the form {{portalpeerreview|Article/try2}}, similar to AfD-style subpage numbering. GA/R already uses a template based on my model. It should simplify matters both for users, who never have to move pages around or figure out a new subpage, and for the archiving bot. Would WP:PPREV be ok with this? Gimmetrow 08:06, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

Editors ask for a review by putting {{subst:PPR}} on the talk page. The template figures out the subpage. Hope this helps. Gimmetrow 22:38, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Stagnated peer reviews

I notice that there are a number of portal peer reviews that have been waiting a while for some feedback. I'll try to get to a few of these. If you have put a portal up for portal peer review and you are not getting feedback after a sufficient amount of time has passed, you might try:

1. Posting a notice to the talkpages of relevant WikiProjects with a link to the portal peer review subpage.
2. Soliciting feedback from a couple of the editors listed at List of portal peer review volunteers.

Portal:R&B and Soul Music

Tried a beginning of this portal, but a lot of the article pages use fair use images, and then even though the article is being referred to on the portal, the robot takes the image away. Is there any advice for what to try? 70.64.182.182 (talk) 17:48, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Archiving old reviews

There are many old requests clogging up the review page, and to reduce this, I'd like to propose having a bot archive all requests older than a month of two. Cirt suggested 3 months, but if there happen to be more open reviews than usual, this could always be changed to one or two months (depending also on the amount of comments left). • ɔ ʃ → 23:13, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
