Official announcement? edit

Is there a page with an official announcement? I'd love to send this around to the various genealogy groups to which I belong (of which many members use CJH). -- 17:24, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

I don't think so -- where would we make such an announcement? On the main meetup page? And thanks for offering to send it around, it would be great to have our friends in the genealogical community join us. Kschlot1 (talk) 14:21, 19 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Why not on CJH's main page? Or perhaps a blog entry? -- kosboot (talk) 03:10, 20 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
Ah, I understand. The Center opens up again on Wednesday, I'll try to get at least a blog post, if not a main page link, up then. Kschlot1 (talk) 19:10, 20 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
There is now an official announcement on the Center's website: Women in Jewish History Edit-a-thon announcement--Lange.lea (talk) 20:17, 30 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Intro to Wikipedia editing included? edit

Will there be guidance for those of us who are neophytes? I am quite interested in learning. StephanieLGrossMSLIS (talkcontribs) 15:38, 30 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Yes, there will be a general demonstration of basic editing for everyone about an hour into the event, and there will be experienced editors on hand throughout the edit-a-thon to answer specific questions. Thanks for your interest!--Lange.lea (talk) 18:28, 30 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Organizations? edit

It's sometimes mentioned that Wikipedia's coverage of organizations can be greatly improved. Are there any organizations specifically for/by women that can be suggested for the edit-a-thon? -- kosboot (talk) 19:50, 30 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Good question. I'll add a few, and I hope others who have more subject expertise might think of more! --Lange.lea (talk) 20:15, 30 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
