Daimler Hyundai? edit

Does anyone know anything about Daimler-Hyundai Truck Corporation? I can't find out if they still exist or not. Thanks in advance. -- Visviva 16:41, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Translation of 종지사 edit

We need an appropriate translation of the term 종지사 in Ju Si-gyeong. --Puzzlet Chung 14:25, 14 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

How about "sentence-final particle"? Some dictionaries (I'm thinking of [1]) recommend "sentence-final form," but "particle" seems closer to the meaning. -- Visviva 16:30, 14 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Requesting some quick Hangul assistance edit

Hello, I was recently assigned responsibility for cleaning up the National Intelligence Service (South Korea) as part of my participation in the Wikipedia:Cleanup Taskforce. Not having much of a background in Korea, I'm still researching the subject as best I can before making substantive changes to the article -- though clearly some sourcing and verification is needed in its current form -- but I did take the liberty of spinning off a List of Directors General of the National Intelligence Service (South Korea) and predecessor organizations (try saying that five times fast) from the main article, since I felt the table distracted from the non-list content. In any case, I noticed there is a new Director since July of this year, Kim Seung Kew, but not being able to read any Korean, I'm not equipped to insert the proper hangul. Could someone give me a quick bit of assistance here? (Any help with the NIS article cleanup would also, of course, be very much appreciated.) Date of national treasure Jindo Dog listing? edit

(I'm posting this question in several places to try to get an answer. :-)

Can someone verify somewhere the year in which the Korea Jindo Dog became a national treasure? An anon user dinked with the year in the article and all I can find on the web so far are duplicates of the wikipedia article. Elf | Talk 21:46, 4 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

it was apparently originally designated a national treasure in 1938 (under japanese colonial gov't), but with the 1962 national treasure protection law, it was re-designated & protected. korean wikipedia has 1962 as the date of designation. Appleby 22:03, 4 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. Do you have reference for that info that I can cite? Elf | Talk 22:09, 4 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

i found it in the first three korean results here [2] it seems undisputed, but i guess these have the most legitimate-sounding url's: [3] [4] [5] [6] Appleby 22:26, 4 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. Have another response also confirming the 1962 on Talk:Korea Jindo Dog. Elf | Talk 18:25, 5 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Korean lib. dems. edit

I looked at Korean Liberal Democrats, and reverted an NPOV edit, but I have to question if this group actually exists or not. I don't get any significant hits with Google for "korean liberal democrats". So I'm wondering if someone could help to either verify the content, and if it's not verifiable, nominate it for deletion. --BluePlatypus 22:45, 20 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

FYI edit

The article "Korean Liberal Democrats" has been listed on AfD. Contributors with any knowledge of such a groups' existence are most welcome to come forward and educate the world about this most enigmatic of organisations. If on the other hand it is a hoax, confirmation from those with an interest in Korean affairs would be warmly received. While I am interested in Korean issues this particular topic is not up my alley and I have no axe to grind against anyone here. Deiz 00:39, 1 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
