Using wikitable

edit

Hello Nnadigoodluck, Is it compulsory to use wikitable in the summary of the elections? I mean can a person use just write ups instead of a table? --Idoghor Melody (talk) 11:31, 2 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Idoghor Melody, Yes. It's compulsory. Best, —Nnadigoodluck 11:38, 2 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Nnadigoodluck: Alright, thanks for that, I'm already working on one.--Idoghor Melody (talk) 11:40, 2 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Election tables

edit
Hello Nnadigoodluck, could editors add non-APC and PDP candidates to boxes if they received over 3% of the vote? Watercheetah99 (talk) 04:03, 8 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Watercheetah99:I don't think it's necessary. Only the top 2 should go and other political parties should be classified as "others". I hope you do understand my point. --Comr Melody Idoghor (talk) 04:41, 8 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Idoghor Melody: I understand just disagree, maybe 3% is low but when a candidate gets over 8-10% they should be included. Only including the top two doesn't make sense in constituencies where the top two didn't get a high percent of the vote. What information do we give if candidates with 32% and 28% are the only ones shown, what happened to the other 40%? It's something that is shown in other election pages and the info is available in on the INEC result pages. Watercheetah99 (talk) 04:47, 8 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Watercheetah99:Hmmmmmmm(in Big Brother's voice). You're right though. But I still believe the top 2 is ok. Those 2 are included in the write up before the box--Comr Melody Idoghor (talk) 05:54, 8 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Idoghor Melody: It's very easy to include another candidate in the write-up, I did it when making this 2021 Nigerian by-elections' write-up. Plus the exact example I was referring to happened today, in the House elections in Taraba page Wukari/Ibi has an Others percentage of 41.22%. There are two major candidates in the Others group with 16% and over 20%, both should clearly be included. Watercheetah99 (talk) 15:36, 8 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Scoring

hello Nnadigoodluck, I feel points need to be allocated for quality of articles (to those who actually put in the number of votes and also take time to calculate the percentage). I am saying this because it takes a whole lot of time to get this done following sample given for 2019 Nigerian House of Representatives elections in Niger State. I can as well just do like others just to create many articles but it takes over 3 hours to create a complete article after your sample. please look into this. Also, I found out that many contestants used sources that have nothing to do with the election; just mere mention of names of candidates. if we go by this, I can produce well over 100 references for each article I created. Gracias. SuperSwift (talk) 18:43, 30 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

I agree with this proposal, the number of votes, candidate names, and percentages for 2019 are easily accessible information so there's no need to give points to those that don't add them. For the 2011 and 2007 elections, there are also results on that website. For other elections, less info should be allowed but it's not fair to allocate the same amount of points for the well-detailed 2019 Ogun page as the 2019 Rivers page which doesn't even have textboxes.
