A comment: could the HKCOTW template be displayed on the ARTICLE PAGE instead of the TALK PAGE??? That makes more sense and catches more attention. Deryck C. 2005-07-01 15:10:50 (UTC)
- You'd better suggest it at Wikipedia talk:Collaborations of the week. :-D — Instantnood July 1, 2005 15:56 (UTC)
7-3-2005 edit
I thought you said the next HKCOTW will come up on 7-3-2005? Why is it still Culture of Hong Kong?
Vote limit edit
Most articles are beyond the deadline of vote requirements but has less votes than required. Do we need to lower the amount of minimum votes or prune some articles? Deryck C. 8 July 2005 03:32 (UTC)
Rule change proposal edit
It's noticed that only 2 articles are left on the candidate list, which means 2 weeks later we'll probably have to shut down this collaboration.
The problem is, the rules about nominations is too strict. The rule says, "only non-existent articles or stubs" are allowed, which causes great inconvenience to nominators.
Therefore, I'm advocating a rule change, which is, to add these to the rules: Articles with blank sections or a lot of section stubs are also welcome, in other words, combine the features of "idrive" into HKCOTW.
I hope that, with this new rule, more nominations will be made... happy collaborating! Deryck C. 17:12, 25 July 2005 (UTC)
Admin edit
I think D Chan would be the shoo-in working for the admin of HKCOTW. He seems enthusiastic in counting votes and fixing new entries. I would personally nominate him to be the ad hoc administrator of this page. -- Jerry Crimson Mann 19:25, 4 August 2005 (UTC)
Time Limit Thing Again edit
THIS IS NOT CRITICISM, JUST IDEA.
It's seen that Instatnood has postponed the date for the next HKCOTW to the Sunday after the original date. Is there any actual utility for this act? As far as I see, the vote-counting time of HKCOTW has never been the same as other collaborations (they're usually in the evening UTC+0, while we are in the evening UTC+8). Deryck C. 07:15, 6 August 2005 (UTC)
Tie-breaking edit
In the previous discussion (above), Instantnood pointed out that we should keep the selection of a new collaboration on a Sunday. In that case, I'm advocating another change of rule:
In case of a tie, the earlier nomination will be selected directly without a poll extention.
Hoping for your opinions. Deryck C. 03:31, 9 August 2005 (UTC)
/featured edit
As far as I can see, all Hong Kong FAs bypassed HKCOTW ^_^ Deryck C. 15:47, 20 August 2005 (UTC)
Inactive? edit
Is the COTW inactive? --Terence Ong |Talk 16:07, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
