Need examples

Do you actually have some redirects that you feel should be featured? The criteria sound fine, but I cannot see the point of this exercise without some examples. – Kaihsu (talk) 13:49, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

I believe the following can be considered for FR status:-

• Needleman-wunsch algorithm
• Α,α-dichlorobenzenea
• Poisson d'avril

April fools?

It may just me me and my cynical nature, but this seems to be a ridiculous proposal (no offence meant to anyone, I just see no point in this) and I notice that it was created today (1 April). Is this, as I suspect, simply an April Fools' Day joke, or is it a serious proposal (in which case I oppose its implementation)? Dendodge _T\^C 14:44, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Ok - yes it was an April Fool (apologies if you were taken in). But I hope it serves some serious purpose as well by collating some of the guidelines for redirects. I have to admit that I often omit to add a categorisation template, and if this page prompts myself and other users to consider redirects more carefully, it will have served a more useful purpose.
