Immediate loser edit

Poor old User:Can't sleep, clown will eat me - almost twice as many as you'd allow. Are you going to tell him, or shall I?! The Rambling Man 16:11, 3 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Maybe I should broaden the terms to include first names, lol --Dweller 16:23, 3 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
And User:Ryan Postlethwaite loses out too...! The Rambling Man 16:34, 3 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Does it have to be Sri Lankans? Hugh Bromley-Davenport has 17 characters, including the hyphen :-p If we include first names, we can have Srinivasaraghavan Venkataraghavan. And if we allow first-class crickters, not just Test cricketers, how about Ilikena Lasarusa Talebulamainavaleniveivakabulaimainakulalakebalau...

And then there is John Elicius Benedict Bernard Placid Quirk Carrington Dwyer and Amunugama Rajapakse Rajakaruna Abeykoon Panditha Wasalamudiyanse Ralahamilage Ranjith Krishantha Bandara Amunugama. -- ALoan (Talk) 17:48, 3 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Laxman Sivaramakrishnan edit

Isn't Laxman Sivaramakrishnan Indian, not Sri Lankan? - fchd 11:21, 26 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes, he should therefore be replaced with Pradeep Jayaprakashdaran. If we are not particular about surnames, Ellawalakankanamge Asoka Ranjit De Silva will also do fine. Tintin 11:26, 26 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ooh. How embarassing. --Dweller 13:12, 4 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Vaas edit

What about Warnakulasuriya Patabendige Ushantha Joseph Chaminda Vaas? Zain Ebrahim (talk) 11:49, 28 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

That's four letters. The beauty is in the small print, you know. --Dweller (talk) 13:06, 28 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
Damn! How did I miss that?! Zain Ebrahim (talk) 15:38, 10 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
You're certainly not the first one to miss something from Vaas. --Dweller (talk) 15:53, 10 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

cricket team test? edit

I that the Sri Lankan cricket team test, or the Sri Lankan test cricket team test? Googlemeister (talk) 16:01, 15 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

I'd happily accept nominations for any notable Sri Lankan cricketer, so I guess not, but it's an interesting test question, though technically it would then be Dweller's Sri Lankan Test cricket team test, these capitals being very important to us cricket geeks. --Dweller (talk) 09:41, 16 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

2015 update? edit

According to the current squad list, the limit may have to be reduced to 11 characters based on Dimuth Karunaratne's name. However, for the sake of fairness, I think Tillakaratne Dilshan's 12-letter first name should be used instead. Of course it does not affect me either way, because my username is 8 letters plus 2 Japanese characters, right? AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 01:04, 2 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
