ArbCom
editDoes the ArbCom really have to disappear under this proposal? If the Community Panel is going to be an intermediate body between the board and the proletariat, it might as well keep the ArbCom, which deals solely with user conduct. The ArbCom doesn't get involved in policy creation, but this body would, so it seems that there's not as much overlap as necessary for the dissolution of the Arbitration Committee. - I second the above. Suggestions to ArbCom reform are welcome but are best made on other pages (e.g. anywhere near the election). I'm not sure what the point would be in creating a committee empowered to amend policy. I would not mind making policy more stable than it is now, but that does kind of go against the spirit of the wiki. Radiant_>|< 22:07, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
- Seems like a solution in search of a problem. Also, forking off the ArbCom-type duties isn't the best way to achieve consensus in a wiki-wide sense. At the least wait until the new ArbCom takes their roles and has a chance to try to do something... -- nae'blis (talk) 17:30, 16 January 2006 (UTC)
