Wikipedians by age

edit

Speaking of this thing, age... why isn't there a category, "Wikipedians by age"? It would be very enlightening to see just how few of us have passed the age of 40, or 50, or 60, or 70, etc. -- Thekohser 15:58, 13 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

I believe that age-related user categories, which were more popular with younger editors, were deprecated some time ago for child protection reasons. Of course, that would not apply to categories for those of us in our 40s, 50s, 60s ... but I haven't exactly seen a mad rush to sign up. Newyorkbrad (talk) 02:37, 29 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

A roundabout solution would be: Go to Category:Age and maturity user templates, pick a relevant userbox, and click "What links here".

Meta also has a List of Wikimedians by age which lists several enwiki users born in the 1920s.

The German Wikipedia has a "Wikipedians by age" page that actually looks very nice and has informative graphs and charts, and apparently they have a user born in 1916! who also happens to have his own article: Hanfried Lenz. -- œ 14:52, 6 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

I was wondering whether the collapsable box thing could be modified to suit. I personally don't know how to make this work or if it can. Ho hum. Gregkaye (talk) 17:19, 24 August 2014 (UTC) Reply
