This week six more users joined the race for ArbCom. In addition, Jimbo Wales appointed two new Arbitrators, Mindspillage and Kelly Martin, to serve until the December elections (see previous story). Neither has decided whether to run in December. In addition, Jimbo also stated that he was going to reform the election process in the coming days to "deal, in some small way at least, with the unpleasantness of last year's process." No details have been announced yet.

At press time, the six new candidates this week are: Charles Matthews (statement), Fred Bauder (statement), Improv (statement), Ingoolemo (statement), Jdforrester (statement), and Linuxbeak (statement).

Jtkiefer initially withdrew his entry this week but later reversed his withdrawal. Jdforrester, sometimes known as James F., and Fred Bauder currently serve on the ArbCom and thus announced their intentions to return.

In addition, Nohat and Maveric149 officially stepped down from the ArbCom after Mindspillage and Kelly Martin took office. There are now nine active Arbitrators.
