This course introduces students to the multifaceted field of human geography. We will use a variety of approaches from human geography – including economic, political, social, and cultural – to critically engage with the world around us. During every segment of the class, we take time to connect what we are learning in the textbook and in lectures to current events in the real world, with an emphasis on critical thinking skills. There is an honors component of the course, in which students participate in an additional project that is connected to course material. This semester, I would like the honors students to work on a collaborative wikipedia assignment on a relevant subject of their choosing.
