This course focuses on reading and writing skills necessary for a career in the natural sciences. Students will learn to evaluate scientific journal articles and to write their own lab reports in the style of scientific journal articles. Students will also practice writing scientific information for a non-scientific audience, using Wikipedia editing as the medium. Since students in the class have a variety of career goals, they will select articles that align with their interests. I will encourage them to select articles related to a topic they have covered in a previous biology course.
