This course is an introduction to fundamental concepts in health research, including the purpose, process, and utilization of health research. Students will be exposed to research designs and data analysis methods commonly used by health researchers. Topics will include evidence-based practice, health research ethics, information literacy, and knowledge translation. Local health researchers will speak to the students about their research, and the plan is to use a Wikipedia assignment to add or update citations to existing articles on related research topics. This will allow students to learn how to search the literature, critically appraise it, and contribute to the scholarly conversation in a given field of study
