This survey course of African American history examines the historical legacies and cultural heritage of African Americans and people of African descent in the United States, with an emphasis on Kentucky and the post-World War II Civil Rights Movement.
This course mandates a Wikipedia entry on an important figure in Kentucky's civil rights history.
First, find a partner to work with on your historical figure. Together, you must complete Wikipedia’s online training modules. Check Canvas and this page for announcements and reminders.
Second, establish a Wikipedia account (free) log into Wikipedia Education to get the access code to the class and complete the six training modules (see below). You must complete the training modules to write an entry. You will receive an E for this assignment if you do not complete an entry.
Third, work together to write at least 1000-word entry on your figure. A sign-up sheet will be available on Canvas by March 24.
Fourth, make your entry available by May 8, at 5pm. All successful entries will receive an A.
